Who Is Minnesota Timberwolves Player Jaden McDaniels’ Girlfriend, Allison Audrey?
Jaden McDaniels was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft. He was later traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder before being traded again to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team he currently plays for.
In 2023, the athlete signed a five-year contract extension with the Timberwolves worth $136 million. The following season, McDaniels led all scorers with a playoff career-high of 25 points in a game against the Phoenix Suns. And in the 2024-25 season, he recorded a career-high 30 points against the Portland Trail Blazers in a game on Feb. 8.
As McDaniels continues to be an offensive boost for the Timberwolves, fans want to learn more about his life off the court. Here’s what we know about his longtime girlfriend, Allison Audrey.
Audrey is an athlete as well
Allison Audrey, also known as Allison Johnson Arguelles, was born in Gijón, Spain where her father, the late Ed Johnson, played and coached professional basketball. Before that, he played his college ball at Tennessee State University and was drafted by the then-Seattle Supersonics in 1968.
The family moved to Norcross, Georgia, in 2012. Johnson died on April 5, 2016.
Audrey followed in her father’s footsteps, playing basketball in high school and then college when she attended Georgia State. In the 2018-19 season, she was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year. She appeared in eight games during the 2019-20 season but missed most of her senior season due to injury.
Aubrey may not play ball anymore, but she still likes to get in a good workout.
In an Instagram post before the NBA season got underway, she wrote: “Friday workout. I did not want to go to the gym today especially because Jaden was off so I wanted to stay in bed but then I remembered all the outfits I need to wear this season and that helped me get my butt UP. No excuses.”
Her workout consists of squats, cable glute kickbacks, bench presses, and leg extensions.
Audrey and McDaniels have one child together
Audrey is also motivated to get her body in shape after having a baby.
She and McDaniels welcomed their first child together in June 2024. They named their baby boy Mekhi.
Before he arrived, Audrey documented some of her pregnancy journey for her nearly 150,000 Instagram followers including a post the day of her shower that read: “Baby shower was a success!!! I was convinced to have one and so happy I did because it was amazing. Appreciate everyone who came out, recap video coming soon.”
Audrey posts tribute to McDaniels and hints that she’s ready for more kids
Audrey isn’t shy about showing her love and support for her man via social media, like when Minnesota Vikings announcer Paul Allen talked about her beau’s performance during the 2025 playoffs, saying, “If Jaden McDaniels significantly impacts each game the rest of the way, the Minnesota Timberwolves will bring home not only the Larry O’Brien but the first championship to this state in three and a half decades.” Audrey reacted to his comments with multiple emoji hearts.
And on McDaniels’ 24th birthday, she posted photos of him holding their son with the caption: “Happy birthday to the best DAD, best partner. I love you.”
Audrey also shared she wouldn’t mind having more children with the Timberwolves forward, posting on X: “Given that Mekhi is sooooo cute I feel like it’s my partner’s and I responsibility to bring a few beautiful people into this world, idk.”
