‘Mormon Wives’ Fans Rally Behind Layla Taylor After Tearful Breakup Reveal
Layla Taylor is getting support from fans after going public about the end of her relationship with Mason McWhorter.
Layla Taylor says ‘there’s no bad blood’ after split from Mason McWhorter
On Saturday, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 24, took to TikTok to announce her and McWhorter’s “very recent” breakup.
“I think it’s obvious … Me and Mason are no longer together, and it’s still super fresh,” the reality star shared in the tearful video.
The Hulu personality said she was speaking out publicly because she was already seeing rumors online about what lead to the split.
“There’s no bad blood between us. I genuinely want and wish nothing but the best for Mason,” Layla explained. “Things just weren’t working out. I think we were just on two different paths right now, and he felt in order for him to grow, he had to be on his own. And I respect his decision, and I truly hope that he gets what he wants in life.”
Layla and Mason went public with their relationship in July 2025. It was her first relationship since divorcing her husband, Clayton Wessell. Mason is the former brother-in-law of Layla’s Mormon Wives costar Miranda McWhorter.
For Layla, who shares two kids with her ex-husband, the breakup is particularly painful as it’s another setback in building the family of her dreams.
“I just really thought that I was gonna get the family that I wanted so badly,” she said in the video.

“Lay my heart. love you bb,” commented Mayci Neeley.

Other commenters accused Mason of only dating Layla for “clout,” while others felt that he had “fumbled” in a major way by ending things with his girlfriend.
