Ariana Grande recently wrapped up her Eternal Sunshine Tour after 41 sold-out shows. For about three months, she performed in various cities across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. After her last show, the pop star broke down in tears on stage as she spoke to her fans. The farewell appeared to be extra emotional for her as it marked the beginning of her planned break from public life. 

The 33-year-old performed the final show of her Eternal Sunshine tour on September 1 in London’s O2 Arena. It concluded with an emotional Grande expressing her gratitude to her fans who have supported her throughout her demanding career. According to CNN, she was in tears when she addressed the sold-out venue. 

She said, “I just wanted to say thank you so much,” before adding, “Thank you for 10 beautiful London shows and for 41 incredible Eternal Sunshine tour shows.” Grande continued to mention how the tour was “one of the most beautiful and extraordinary experiences” that she would always cherish. The crowd consistently cheered for her as she told them she has the “best fans in the world.”

“I love your outfits. Love your faces. I love seeing you, and I love connecting with you in this way. Thank you for all the effort that you put into making this so special,” the Wicked star added. She then blew kisses to her fans. It appeared that her fans did the same via social media. 

“We made the right person famous! She worked so hard btw! Much deserved break,” an X user commented on Grande’s viral video. Another fan echoed, “You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and she’s amazing at it. She’s worked hard for everything, and always makes sure to thank her fans.” Several others expressed their concern, discussing how long Grande’s hiatus could be. 

A rep for Grande confirmed that she would be taking some time off after concluding the tour earlier this month. According to People, her decision came after continued public scrutiny over her physical appearance. Despite her addressing the endless criticism over her physique, the debate over how she looks never stopped.

Her representative revealed that Grande would be out of sight after ending the tour “on a high note, both healthily and happily.” They called the hiatus a “much-deserved break” as it “led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.” An insider also chimed in to reveal that the pop star’s concerts are very physically demanding. 

She reportedly performed her shows “healthily and successfully” throughout the tour. However, they all involved a “lot of athleticism.” Therefore, she asserted that she was taking a planned break and that it was not an impulsive decision. The pop singer emphasized that boundaries needed to be set amid the public scrutiny and urged people that human beings sometimes need breaks.

Although Grande will be away from the spotlight, she will still promote her upcoming movie Focker-In-Law. A source close to the singer revealed that she is “committed” to promoting the movie, which is scheduled to release in November. The insider claimed that the Side to Side crooner is “very proud” of the movie, which stars Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. Hence, she would continue her brand work despite her absence from the public eye.
