Taylor Swift’s ‘Dirty’ Travis Kelce Reference Sends Fans Into a Frenzy Over One Jaw-Dropping Line
Taylor Swift recently released four new tracks from her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl. The tracks are the first ones she has released since her wedding to Travis Kelce. As a newlywed, the singer appeared to make a racy reference to her husband in one of the tracks.
The Cruel Summer crooner released her new tracks more than two months after her Madison Square Garden wedding. The four tracks are Patient Zero, Pink Clouding, Babylon, and Cleveland! According to the Daily Mail, the pop star added a rather “dirty” line in Cleveland!, referencing the NFL star.
The song’s title itself appeared to be an ode to Kelce, who grew up in Cleveland Heights. The line from the song read, “The taste of me is acquired, but it’s his favorite dish.” Many fans noted that Swift subtly spilled beans about the chemistry and romance between her and Kelce.
An elated Swifty wrote on X, “THE TASTE OF ME IS ACQUIRED BUT ITS HIS FAVORITE DISH????????????? OHHH TAYLOR I LOVE IT WHEN YOUR DIRTY.” Another X user penned, “‘The taste of me is acquired, but it’s his favorite dish,’ is insaaaaaane of her btw.” “‘The taste of me is acquired, but it’s his favorite dish’…IS A FUCKING BAR!!!!! I love Taylor Alison Swift,” a third one noted.
The rest of the lyrics also sounded like they were dedicated to the “love of her life.” Swift wrote, “He already took me to Cleveland And showed me The Heights, so hate all you like. This is the love of my life, hey, hey, hey.”
A fan reacted to the lines and wrote, “Why is cleveland! making me sob like…she found the love of her life, guys.” Several others announced that Cleveland! is for Kelce, calling it a “cute sweet song.” One of the Swifties pointed out another part of the track and wrote, “‘Now I’m wearing white so hate all you like,’ YES TAYLOR YES.”
The Love Story crooner is known for seeking inspiration from her real life and penning it into melodies. However, there have been times when she has given some racy references in her songs. The songstress dropped a track named Wood last year in which she wrote, “Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see/His love was the key that opened my thighs.”
According to Billboard, Swift announced her album extension with a note to all her fans. She took to her Instagram handle to share that she was moved by the love her last album received. The Opalite singer wrote, “About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history.”
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Swift continued to share that she traveled to Sweden with her two collaborators to reflect on the album’s response. They then found a studio on their trip and wrote more songs. “I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude,” she added.
Meanwhile, Swift also announced that the Patient Zero music video will be released during the 2026 VMAs. It features Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
