Travis Kelce recently had some time off from football to celebrate his 37th birthday with his wife, Taylor Swift. The pop star and the NFL star stepped out on the streets of New York City to have a date night. While his birthday celebration looked rather simple, a body language expert revealed that their outing said a lot more about the power dynamics in their marriage.
Swift wore a black lace dress to have a rather low-key birthday celebration for her husband. The dinner came during the time Kelce’s team had a bye week. Their loved-up outing seemed to be a simple one, but their hand-holding reportedly revealed a lot.
According to The Blast, body language expert Inbaal Honigman recently analyzed the videos of Swift and Kelce celebrating the football star’s birthday at Torrisi in SoHo. Speaking via Casino.org, the expert claimed that the birthday boy seemed to be protective of his pop star wife without taking control of the situation. On the other hand, the Love Story crooner remained “the dominant partner in the marriage.”
Honigman noted that Kelce first stepped out of the vehicle and waited for Swift to join him. He then took her, similar to most of their outings, and stayed ahead while walking toward their date venue. As previously noted, Kelce remained a shield to his wife as photographers crowded them to capture their loved-up moment.
Despite the football star’s leading position, the body language expert argued that he may not have the same position in his marriage. “Even though Travis is taking on the protective role during his birthday outing, turning his back towards the camera flash and shielding Taylor with his body, she is still the dominant partner in the marriage,” she said.
Honigman further focused on the couple’s hand placement during the outing. She claimed that Kelce’s hand was below Swift’s. Therefore, the Cruel Summer crooner’s hand was basically resting on that of her husband’s. She then gave her verdict, saying, “Knowingly and acceptingly, Travis is happy to take the lower position in their hand-holding dynamic.”
The expert also suggested that similar to her hand placement, Swift has the upper hand in the marriage. Honigman continued to share her analysis and argued that Kelce is anything but a controlling partner. “Travis is vigilant, not smothering,” she claimed.
As Kelce protected Swift, the expert claimed that he took the physical lead to guard his woman. However, Swift remained in the dominant position between the crowd.
The outing came a few weeks after the Opalite singer reminded everyone that it was her husband playing on the field. According to People, Swift went to support the Kansas City Chiefs’ match against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Lavender Haze singer stayed in the VIP stands and celebrated the team’s high moments. However, when Kelce scored a touchdown, Swift pointed at her wedding ring and announced, “That’s my husband.” The moment was captured in several videos that went viral on social media.
The NFL season marks the first one for Kelce after his July 3 Madison Square Garden wedding. Swift has appeared to support him during multiple games. She often opts for a red tank top and her signature matching lipstick and sits with family members in the VIP suite.
