Spooky season is here, and Netflix is delivering all the thrills and chills that you could ask for. This month, the streamer’s list of new releases includes a limited series about the serial killer that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho; True Haunting, a documentary series about real-life hauntings; and a Halloween-themed installment of Is It Cake? Looking for something less scary? The highly anticipated second season of Nobody Wants This arrives in October, as does the third season of political thriller The Diplomat.

‘Love Is Blind’ Season 9

Meet your new pod squad! Love Is Blind heads to Denver for its ninth season, where a fresh group of singles are on the hunt for love. While we don’t know if any of them will get a happily ever after, we do know that drama is guaranteed.

Love Is Blind Season 9 premieres Wednesday, October 1. Episodes release weekly through October 22.

‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’

After tackling the stories of Jeffrey Dahmer and Lyle and Erik Menendez, Ryan Murphy’s anthology series Monster returns with a look at infamous Wisconsin killer Ed Gein. Gein’s disturbing crimes (which included murder and grave robbing) served as the inspiration for Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Charlie Hunnam plays Gein in the new show and says that he wanted to create an authentic portrait of the man.

“I wanted to get as close as possible to who Ed was, to do him justice, and for this thing to feel authentic,” Hunnam told Tudum. “This is going to be the really human, tender, unflinching, no-holds-barred exploration of who Ed was and what he did. But who he was being at the center of it, rather than what he did.”

Monster: The Ed Gein Story premieres Friday, October 3.

‘Boots’

The inspired-by-a-true-story dramedy Boots is an offbeat coming of age tale that follows Cameron Cope (Miles Heizer), a closeted young man who joins the U.S. Marine Corps. Set in the 1990s, when being a gay servicemember was still illegal, it follows Cameron and his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh) as they join a diverse group of recruits at boot camp.

Boots premieres Thursday, October 9.

‘The Diplomat’ Season 3

Get ready for more high-stakes political intrigue in season of The Diplomat, as Ambassador Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) faces an uncertain future. The president is dead, which means that VP Grace Penn (Allison Janney) is now the leader of the free world. The shift in power opens up the possibility that Kate could be named vice president, which is exactly what her husband Hal (Rufus Sewell) wants. As Kate steps into a role she never wanted, she develops an increasingly complicated friendship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi) and an unnerving bond with First Gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford).

The Diplomat Season 3 premieres Thursday, October 16.

‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2

Can a romance between a rabbi and an outspoken agnostic really work? In season 2 of romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This, Noah (Adam Brody) and Joanne (Kristen Bell) are committed to merging their lives and their families. But they’re still facing some fundamental obstacles, which could put their fiery relationship to the test.

Nobody Wants This Season 3 premieres Thursday, October 23.
