New year, new TV shows! The midseason schedules for NBC, CBS, ABC, and Fox are packed with new and returning shows, including the premiere of Survivor’s landmark 50th season, the return of NBC’s serial killer drama The Hunting Party, and fresh episodes of fan-favorite shows like Matlock and Fire Country.

‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Law & Order: SVU,’ and ‘The Hunting Party’ are back on NBC

NBC is kicking off the new year with the season 2 premiere of St. Denis Medical at 8 p.m ET/PT on Monday, January 5. A repeat of new comedy series Stumble follows at 8:30 p.m. The season premiere of The Wall airs at 9 p.m., while Brilliant Minds Season 2 is back at 10 p.m. 

The One Chicago dramas return on Wednesday, January 7, with Chicago Med Season 11 at 8 p.m., Chicago Fire Season 14 at 9 p.m., and Chicago P.D. Season 13 at 10 p.m.

Thursday, January 8 marks the return of Law & Order Season 25 at 8 p.m. and Law & Order: SVU Season 27 at 9 p.m. Season 2 of creepy serial killer drama The Hunting Party debuts at 10 p.m. with an episode featuring guest star Eric McCormack.  

The Reba McEntire comedy Happy’s Place welcomes viewers back on Friday, January 16 at 8 p.m., followed by Stumble at 8:30 p.m.

One new show debuts on NBC midseason. The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins premieres Monday, February 23 at 8 p.m. with back-to-back half-hour episodes. It stars Tracy Morgan as a disgraced former football star and Daniel Radcliffe as a filmmaker helping him rehabilitate his image. (The show moves to its regular 8:30 p.m timeslot on March 2.) The Voice airs at 9 p.m. 

NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics from Milan begins February 6. Super Bowl LX is happening February 8.

‘Fire Country,’ ‘Matlock,’ and Elsbeth’ return with new episodes on CBS 

A mix of new and returning shows are on tap at CBS in early 2026. The year kicks off with the return of Hollywood Squares and The Price Is Right at Night on Wednesday, January 7 at 8 p.m. New true crime series Harlan Coben’s Final Twist debuts at 10 p.m.

On Monday, February 23, CBS takes viewer back to The Neighborhood at 8 p.m., followed by DMV at 8:30. FBI is back at 9 p.m., followed by the series premiere of its latest spinoff, CIA, at 10 p.m.

NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney all pick up with new episodes starting at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24. 

Survivor 50 kicks off on Wednesday, February 25 with a super-sized three-hour premiere. 

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Ghosts, Matlock, and Elsbeth are back on Thursday, February 26 starting at 8 p.m.

On Friday, February 27, new drama Sheriff Country returns at 8 p.m. Fire Country is back at 9 p.m. followed by a new episode of Boston Blue at 10 p.m.  

Finally, the highly anticipated Yellowstone spinoff Y: Marshals premieres Sunday, March 1 at 8 p.m. Tracker is back at 9 p.m. in a new timeslot, while Watson moves to 10 p.m.  

CBS shows stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. 

‘Will Trent’ is back on the case at ABC 

ABC ushers in the new year with a smile with the return of America’s Funniest Home Videos Season 36 on Sunday, January 4 at 7. P.m.

Will Trent sniffs out some new cases in the season 4 premiere, airing at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6. Season 2 of High Potential is back at 9 p.m, followed by the premiere of The Rookie Season 8 at 10 p.m. 

On Wednesday, January 7, Shifting Gears Season 2 returns at 8 p.m, followed by Abbott Elementary Season 5 at 8:30 p.m., and Shark Tank Season 17 at 10 p.m. 

9-1-1 is back on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at 8 p.m., followed by the midseason premiere of 9-1-1: Nashville Season 1 at 9 p.m. Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 airs at 10 p.m.

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Season 6 is back at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 9, followed by a new episode of 20/20 Season 48. 

A new batch of singers take the stage in the American Idol Season 24 premiere on Monday, January 26 at 8 p.m.  

The Scrubs reboot debuts on Wednesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. with a two-episode series premiere. 

Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars Season 4 premieres on Friday, February 27, at 8 p.m.

Finally, Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette kicks off at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.

All ABC shows stream the next day on Hulu. 

‘Doc’ is on call at Fox 

On Sunday, January 4, Fox will air a special advance premiere on new series Best Medicine – an Americanized version of popular British series Doc Martin — immediately following the Fox NFL Doubleheader. New episodes of The Simpsons and Krapopolis air later the same night. 

The Best Medicine series premiere airs again on Tuesday, January 6 at 8 p.m. (its regular timeslot). The midseason premiere of Doc airs at 9 p.m. 

On Thursday, January 15, Fox airs a new episode of Hell’s Kitchen at 8 p.m. followed by the return of Animal Control at 9 p.m. and the season 2 premiere of Going Dutch at 9:30 p.m. 

New series Memory of a Killer premieres on Sunday, January 25, after the NFC Championship Game. 

Extracted Season 2 premieres Monday, January 26 at 8 p.m. followed by Memory of a Killer in its regular 9 p.m. timeslot.
