Ne-Yo has taken fans inside his unconventional love life, revealing that he is in a committed polyamorous relationship with four girlfriends: Cristina, Arielle Hill, Moneii, and Brionna Williams. The R&B singer, who finalized his divorce from Crystal Renay in 2023, says this new chapter is about honesty and transparency after past relationship struggles. On Instagram earlier this year, he introduced the women as his “pyramid.” The reveal quickly sparked viral attention, with fans curious about how the star manages such a unique arrangement.

In September 2025, Ne-Yo spoke to Fat Joe and Jadakiss about his experience having four girlfriends in a polyamorous relationship. “There’s a mindset that the woman has to have in order to be able to share men,” Ne-Yo explained. “She literally has to think a different way.”

The R&B artist then noted that he knows he’s dating the “wrong women” if they want expensive gifts rather than a real connection. And all of the women help each other.

“If you’ve got four women who want Birkin bags, you’ve got the wrong four,” he noted. “It’s community, it’s family, it’s everybody doing something. It’s like a village where everybody’s doing something — everybody’s got a job.”

Ne-Yo hoped to try polyamory after hurting ‘a lot of people’ after his divorce

Ne-Yo finalized his divorce from Crystal Renay in 2022 after six years of marriage, a split that drew public attention because of allegations of infidelity. Renay filed in August of that year, citing irreconcilable differences, and claimed Ne-Yo had fathered a child outside of their marriage. The couple, who share three children, reached a settlement that included joint custody and financial support.

While speaking to Fat Joe and Jadakiss, Ne-Yo noted that he “hurt a lot of people” during his marriage. For that reason, he now practices radical honesty in all aspects of his life, and there are no secrets between him and his four girlfriends.

Ne-Yo noted that men can “absolutely” love more than one woman at a time. He also revealed that he has a custom Alaskan king bed that everyone can share.

“We have problems just like monogamous relationships,” the R&B artist clarified. “… You gonna argue over stuff. But, again, at the end of the day, as long as you are head of household, and everybody understands that, then arguments don’t last long.”

Cardi B recently spoke to Fat Joe and Jadakiss about her new album and upcoming tour. And Ne-Yo’s polyamorous lifestyle came up in conversation.

“I don’t think it’s that easy,” Cardi said, doubting the ease of which Ne-Yo appears to juggle five girlfriends. “I don’t care what he says. … He’s making it sound easy, and I know it’s not easy.”

She then noted that there “has to be turbulence” in the relationships, especially when it comes to intimacy. “That s*** makes you want to argue,” she noted regarding the intimacy issues that she imagines come up in the artist’s romantic life.
