This season will feature a mix of new teen couples ranging in age from 13 to 18. The episodes will offer an unfiltered look at their journey toward young parenthood as they navigate financial pressure and evolving family dynamics as they prepare for their new roles as mom and dad.

“From baby showers, to births, to unexpectedly difficult decisions, grandparents step in, opinions collide, and tensions rise as everyone pushes for what they believe is best for the baby,” reads the network’s description of the new season.

Mia and Jessie, both 16, are expecting a child together, much to the dismay of her dad, Keith.

“When I first met Jessie, I kind of didn’t like him,” he confesses. “Then this happened. I definitely don’t like the kid now.”

‘Unexpected’ couples face big challenges

Other couples are struggling to resolve their issues before the baby arrives. Isabella and Bryce, both 18, “are fixin’ to have a baby” he declares. But their constant fighting is worrying her mom, Tasha.

“My mom has no hope in me and Bryce,” Isabella tells a producer. In an interview, Tasha calls Bryce “a manipulative, narcissistic, piece of sh*t.”

Tasha takes her concerns to Bryce’s mother, telling her that her son “needs anger management.” That doesn’t go over well with Connie.

“You should hear how your daughter calls my son a little b*tch,” she replies.

Later, Connie gets into a heated argument with Isabella.

“What is it that you need that he can’t give you,” Connie asks.

“Tell him to get a job and take care of the f*cking kid he made,” an irate Isabella replies.

Amya, 16, was under the impression that it would hard for her to get pregnant because she was “bigger … like there was no way.” But now she’s expecting a child with her boyfriend Jose, and she’s struggling with pregnancy-related weight gain.

Meanwhile, Bella’s dad knew she was “doomed” when she failed her sex ed class. Now, the 15-year-old is preparing to welcome a baby with Hunter, who is just 13. To top things off, her younger boyfriend is at risk of being held back in school.

“I don’t want to be a 10th grader dating and eighth grader and we’ve got a toddler,” Bella says.

Unexpected premieres Monday, February 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
