Is ‘Next Gen NYC’ Season 2 Happening? One Housewife’s Daughter Hints She Might Join Cast
The next generation of Bravo stars is here, and they’re making waves.
In June, Next Gen NYC debuted on the cable network. The series follows a group of twentysomethings — including Real Housewives kids Gia Giudice, Brooks Marks, Riley Burruss, and Ariana Biermann — navigating life in New York. An instant hit, the premiere became the most-watched Bravo episode of all time on Peacock, according to Deadline.
Will there be a ‘Next Gen NYC’ Season 2?
Given Next Gen NYC’s success, it seems likely that it will return for another season. However, Bravo has not yet confirmed the show’s renewal for season 2.
If Bravo does order more episodes of Next Gen NYC, it’s not clear which cast members will return. The season 1 cast consisted of Ariana Biermann (daughter of Kim Zolciak from The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Riley Burruss (daughter of RHOA’s Kandi Burruss), Ava Dash, Emira D’Spain, Shai Fruchter, Gia Giudice (daughter of The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice), Brooks Marks (son of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Meredith Marks), Georgia McCann, Hudson McLeroy, and Charlie Zakkour.
Tamra Judge’s daughter hints she’s interested in joining ‘Next Gen NYC’ cast
If there is a Next Gen NYC Season 2, there’s one more Real Housewives kid who could be interested in joining the cast.
Sophia Barney, whose mom is The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge, appeared with her mom on the August 6 episode of The Viall Files. The 19-year-old said she’d “possibly” be interested in following in her mother’s Bravo footsteps, either in an LA-focused Next Gen spinoff or on Next Gen NYC, since she’s already considering moving to the East Coast.
“We’re in talks. Possibly moving to New York, me,” she said.
“She wants to go to music school,” Tamra chimed in. “And that’s one of the choices. She’s doing general ed right now, just community, and then she’s going to transfer to a music school in New York. And the fact that she has a cute boyfriend that wants to move to New York too.”
But Sophia stressed that she wasn’t just planning on moving to be with her boyfriend.
“We’ve been talking about moving to New York before that,” she said. “That’s just the cherry on top. It’d be awesome to bring him and have someone there that I know and trust and care about.”
Tamra Judge’s daughter doesn’t watch ‘Real Housewives’
But Sophia might not know what she’s getting into with Next Gen NYC. She admitted she didn’t watch the show. Nor does she watch RHOC, even though she occasionally appears on that show.
“I don’t watch TV,” she said.
She does, however, have opinions about Bravo fans who think they know her mom from watching RHOC.
“I think one of my biggest pet peeves is people are just stupid,” she said. “They don’t know us. It’s all parasocial; it’s very parasocial. People will think that they know her, and they don’t at all.”
Next Gen NYC is streaming on Peacock.
