One of the more mysterious characters from Bravo’s hit series Next Gen NYC just surfaced on Instagram.

On Sunday, Next Gen NYC’s Charlie Zakkour shared a photo of himself with Omar Zaki on Instagram. He tagged Omar’s Instagram in the post, which he captioned “type timing.” The post provided rare new details about Omar, who has become a much-talked-about figure among the show’s fans since the July 22 season finale.

Throughout the first season of the reality series, Omar was mostly in the periphery. But he played an important role in the season finale, when his then-girlfriend Georgia McCann unveiled her ambitious vision for a bowling-themed nightclub she called “Club Club.”

Omar, a crypto investor, agreed to provide the seed money for Georgia’s club, in addition to connecting her with other investors. However, in a dramatic coda at the end of the episode, Georgia revealed that she and Omar broke up during a Christmas trip to Singapore.

The incident — Georgia was allegedly left stranded in another country by her ex — didn’t come as a shock to some of her co-stars. Earlier in the episode, Emira D’Spain had described Omar as an “alleged scammer.”

“I won’t say anything else about Georgia’s boyfriend,” Emira said coyly. “I will just say, ‘Google him.’ And then, see if he’s gonna give her that million dollars to invest in her bar.”

Emira didn’t elaborate on what led her to believe Omar was a scammer. However, in 2019, the Securities and Exchange Commission issued a $25,000 fine to a man with the same name who was running an unregistered investment adviser and a hedge fund. The scheme began in 2016 when he was an undergraduate student at Yale University, according to a report from the Yale Daily News

Today, Omar’s Instagram features just a handful of posts, including updates from Portugal and Copenhagen.  On his website, he says that he studied physics and economics at Yale and describes himself as an “entrepreneur,” “investor,” and “builder across finance + tech.” He also notes he was “the calm one” on Next Gen NYC.

Georgia from ‘Next Gen NYC’ moved in with Charlie Zakkour after Omar breakup

After breaking up with Omar, Georgia not only had to scramble to find a way back to the U.S., but she also had to scramble to find a place to live. By the time she returned to New York, Omar already had his assistant move all of her belongings out of their shared home and leave them in the hallway outside Charlie’s apartment. For a time, she and Charlie were living together as she figured out her next steps.

“The breakup with Omar was logistically rough because we were living together and the end was quite messy,” Georgia told Bravo’s Daily Dish. “I’m doing well now and focusing on my dream life and not [living] vicariously through someone else.”

For now, that life does not include Omar or Charlie. In the Next Gen NYC finale, Omar and Charlie discussed going into business together, and Charlie’s latest social media post indicates they’re still friends. But with Omar no longer supporting Georgia’s “Club Club” dreams and Charlie aligning himself with Omar, she’s cut ties with both men.

“I do not speak to Charlie at all,” she told The Daily Dish.
