After capturing Nick’s attention through a DM in 2020, their relationship quietly unfolded from mutual respect and shared values. Their 18-year age gap raised eyebrows, but in April 2024, the couple married on her family’s scenic farm in Georgia, surrounded by loved ones and their infant daughter, River Rose.
In 2025, Nick announced on his podcast, The Viall Files, that Natalie was recovering from her third miscarriage in 2025. Many fans reached out to Natalie in light of the news. On Aug. 17, 2025, she posted an update for fans on her Instagram Stories.
“Hi friends,” she wrote over a photo of her hand holding a cup of coffee with a blanket draped over her legs, “wanted to thank everyone for the love and support after sharing that we experienced our third miscarriage. I took this last week to recover physically from my second D&C, lean on my people, and nonstop squeezing my miracle Rivvy girl.”
Natalie noted that she’s “working very closely” with her doctors that she “loves and trusts” so that she doesn’t have to go through the “heartbreak” of another miscarriage.

The Bachelor star Nick Viall discussed Natalie Joy’s third miscarriage on his podcast, The Viall Files. On Aug. 14, 2025, he told fans about Natalie’s physical and emotional recovery.
“As you can see, Natalie is not with us,” Nick said. “There’s no really good way to say it, it f***ing sucks. She’s obviously at home resting and healing, both physically and emotionally.”
Nick noted that he and Natalie were in the process of getting testing done to get more information about the miscarriages. “It’s far less normal to have two or three back-to-back,” he continued. “Now, we’re in that very scary process of running tests and finding out more about ourselves. It’s this weird thing of like, you want them to find something, but you don’t want them to find something.”
While he acknowledged the difficulties he faces with the loss, he noted that he has to “keep life together” as Natalie continues to grieve.
Natalie Joy previously called miscarriage the ‘biggest heartbreak’ of her life
Natalie Joy previously opened up about her second miscarriage. In January 2025, she sat down with Nick Viall on The Viall Files to discuss the “heartbreak” of losing another child.
“It has been the biggest heartbreak, I think, of my life,” Natalie said at the time, according to Good Morning America. “I’ve never experienced something where I feel so empty inside.”
She noted that at the first signs of miscarriage, she reached out to her sister, who had had 12 in the past.
“I definitely was freaked out at the first sign of blood,” Natalie continued. “I immediately reached out to my sister, who had 12 miscarriages and one daughter, and she was like, ‘This is normal, everything is fine.'”
Unfortunately, the bleeding continued to worsen. “I think I knew from the jump, but I didn’t want to accept that,” she continued. “And then it just got heavier and heavier.” She was then “screaming and crying” as she knew what the bleeding meant.
Nick noted that the night was “traumatic” for him as well.
