Nicki Minaj Sparks Buzz With AI Images of Donald Trump Rocking Pink for President’s Day
Nicki Minaj’s relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump has evolved into one of the most surprising and talked-about celebrity–politics alliances of recent years. Minaj was once a critic of Trump’s policies. However, she’s since become an unabashed supporter, publicly embracing him at high-profile events and declaring herself his “number one fan.” For President’s Day in 2026, the notable rapper posted an AI-generated photo of her and Trump driving together. And she put the president in an eye-catching outfit. Here’s what to know.

Nicki Minaj is all-in on her support for President Donald Trump despite fan backlash. At a U.S. Treasury Department event in Washington, D.C., she stood alongside Trump and praised his leadership amid criticism. The rapper pledged financial backing for his signature “Trump Accounts” program. She’s also appeared at events with conservative activist group Turning Point USA, passionately speaking to Erika Kirk about her love for the president.
Minaj has explained her shift by drawing parallels between how she believes Trump has been treated by critics and her own experiences with public scrutiny. And she’s not holding back on social media with her MAGA support. On President’s Day in 2026, she posted two AI-generated photos of herself with Trump to X. Both images show her with Trump in a car. In the first, she’s holding a camera as if taking a selfie. And Trump, who’s sitting in the seat beside her, throws a hand into an “OK” gesture. “The other image shows Minaj counting stacks of cash while Trump stares into the camera.
The most notable aspect of the images is Trump’s outfit. In both AI-generated photos, he’s wearing a pink Nike track jacket and jeans with pink blossom detailing on the thighs. Minaj herself is wearing a pink T-shirt and a large necklace that’s encrusted with diamonds.
The rapper believes Donald Trump isn’t treated fairly by the public
Nicki Minaj’s support for President Donald Trump continues to turn heads in both conservative and liberal circles. Previously, she explained how witnessing the public’s treatment of Trump resulted in her feeling sympathetic toward the politician.
While speaking on The Katie Miller Podcast, Minaj revealed that she’s always felt she had a bigger purpose in life. And she knew she wanted to get into politics during the last presidential election.
“The last thing that really did it was me seeing certain things … and knowing that I could help, because the things that I was saying, it was happening,” Minaj reflected during the last presidential campaign. She then noted that she was “pushed” into her “next calling” without elaborating on the events that led to this awakening.
“Religious freedom is something that’s very important to me,” Minaj said. “But if I’m being honest, President Trump … because when I saw how he was being treated over and over and over, I just couldn’t handle it. I felt that a lot of that bullying, and the smear campaigns, and all of that lying, I felt that that had been done to me for so many years…. I didn’t think he deserved it.”
Nicki Minaj criticized the current president in the past
Before her recent public embrace of Donald Trump, Nicki Minaj was on record criticizing some of his policies and rhetoric, especially during his first presidential campaign and early presidency. In 2016, she released a freestyle remix called “Black Barbies.” She included pointed lines aimed at his anti-immigrant stance, rapping, “Island girl, Donald Trump want me go home,” and expressing fear that her friends and others like her could face deportation under harsher immigration enforcement, according to Elle.
Later, during the Trump administration’s controversial “zero tolerance” immigration policy that led to widespread family separations at the U.S.–Mexico border, Minaj took to social media to condemn the practice. She shared a photo of detained children and described the situation as “so scary” given her own experience coming to the United States as a young immigrant.
