It was Keith Urban’s big night at the 2025 ACM Awards. The country music sensation danced with his A-list wife, Nicole Kidman, as Megan Moroney, Chris Stapleton, and Brothers Osborne performed a tribute to Urban’s greatest hits. In his heartfelt acceptance speech for the ACM Triple Crown Award, he thanked his wife, referring to her as “Babygirl.” He also acknowledged their daughters, Sunday and Faith, who watched from home.
While it was Urban’s time to shine, body language expert Judi James noticed how Kidman appeared as the star of the red carpet.
“Keith Urban showed his capacity as a body language ‘melter’ last night, looking very much like the celebrity partner that melts into the background while their more famous partner is posing for photographs,” James noticed, via Casino.ca. “However, Keith’s ‘melting’ rituals were counterintuitive, as it was meant to be his night.”
“On the red carpet Nicole looks happy to pose alone like the real star while Keith melts voluntarily to the side and waits in the wings,” she continued. According to James, Kidman’s poses “hit the spotlight” as her confidence gave her “red carpet dominance.”
“Keith seemed to take it all with good humor, suggesting he is proud of his wife and her level of stardom, but at one point he did pop up in the background to gatecrash one of her poses,” James added. “It looked like Nicole’s night for a while, although she did morph into supportive, encouraging parental mode when Keith was getting his actual award.”
“It was clearly threatening to be Keith’s night, but his body language displayed a very loving deference to his wife’s A-list status despite the way that she seemed happier to define herself more humbly as there in the role as his biggest fan,” the expert said.
The country music star commented on Nicole Kidman’s hair transformation
Nicole Kidman brought back her signature long hair after the Met Gala on May 5, 2025. The actor stunned on the ACM Awards red carpet with her typical look, confusing fans who saw her with short hair on the previous Monday. While speaking to Access Hollywood, Keith Urban expressed how much it meant for him for Kidman to see him win the prestigious award — and he also discussed her hair.
“Everything!” Urban expressed when asked what it meant for Kidman to be there for him. “Family. It’s family.”
Regarding her hair, he confirmed that she never actually cut it short. Still, he admitted he found the shorter style “hot.” With that kind of reaction, perhaps Kidman will consider embracing a shorter cut in the future.

Nicole Kidman might’ve stolen Keith Urban’s spotlight on the red carpet. However, the country superstar doesn’t seem to mind. While speaking to Billboard, he appeared shocked to win the ACM Triple Crown Award, calling the experience “surreal.”
“And they put diamonds on this thing!” he told the interviewer about the trophy. It’s blingin’.”
Urban added that the award signifies his ability to write music that people love and tour for fans, which is all he ever wanted. “We’re gearing up for a new tour now at the end of the month,” he said, “and I’m so jonesing to hit the road.”
