North West Offers Critique of Kim Kardashian’s Halloween Costume
The Kardashian family has always gone all-in on Halloween, and Kim Kardashian in particular has served up some seriously ambitious looks. This year, she celebrated the holiday by dressing as her 13-year-old daughter, North West. Kim was confident she’d nailed the look, but North had some notes.

Kim took to Instagram on Oct. 20 to share her Halloween costume, posting 18 photos of herself dressed as North, complete with the teen’s ice-blue hair and distinctive style. She wore a graphic black tee, spiked stiletto nails, black high-tops, and faux facial piercings. Kim also sported black grills and her daughter’s own diamond skull pendant. In one shot, she covered her mouth with her hand, a pose North often uses in her own photos.
Fans couldn’t get over the likeness. Several commenters said the pair could pass for twins, and one speculated that North “directed this shot.” But while the final result was everything Kim wanted, she recently admitted it wasn’t exactly easy to get there.

Kim’s costume worked out just fine in the end, and she has the photos to prove it. But the All’s Fair star recently admitted that it was a group effort, and that her daughter didn’t hold back on the critiques. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Season 2 premiere of All’s Fair on Nov. 2, Kim revealed that dressing up as North was actually her daughter’s idea. Still, the execution needed some work.
“I thought I was killing it and I was, like, fully ready,” Kim said. But when she showed North her first attempt, the teen immediately started pointing out what was wrong. “No, no, no,” Kim recalled North saying, before adding, “I would never wear that skirt” and “Where did you get those lashes?” North didn’t just criticize the look; she set out to fix it. “She redid it for me and made it amazing and perfect,” Kim told the outlet.

North’s notes aside, Kim has always taken Halloween seriously. Early on, she favored classic looks, dressing as a flapper, Wonder Woman, and Poison Ivy over the years. In 2015, she poked fun at herself by rewearing a much-criticized Met Gala gown and declaring she’d “nailed the Kim K costume.”
She’s also gone as Cher and as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, and she transformed into Mystique from X-Men in 2022. Now that she has four kids, they’ve gotten in on the fun, too. She and North dressed as bugs in 2019 and recreated Cher and Dionne from Clueless in 2023. Other costumes, like North’s “baddies” look, have been controversial. Now, we are just waiting to see what she cooks up next.
