The political landscape in the U.S. shifted after the midterm elections, and Kim Kardashian marked the moment with a new video. The reality star shared a “GOOD MORNING AMERICA” message on X, prompting some users to connect the post to her friendship with Ivanka Trump. However, Kardashian did not mention the election results or explain the message.

Kardashian wore a one-shoulder pale orange dress in the clip. She posed in full-glam makeup and flipped her blow-dried hair. While the clip appeared to be perfectly innocent, it was the caption that sparked fresh controversy. “GOOD MORNING AMERICA,” the beauty mogul wrote at the time of the election result. 

According to the Daily Mail, fans quickly reacted to the post, with one writing, “Do you think she posted this before or after she checked in on her best friend Ivanka?” “Oh wtf lol it’s comical how you lack the ability to read the room,” another noted. A third user declared, “You look good, but we know you MAGA.”

Many soon brought Trump into the conversation, highlighting that Kardashian was a friend of the 45-year-old. “Was this before dinner with the Kushners?” a critic asked. One also labeled her a “narcissist,” adding that she was being insensitive toward Trump.

Kardashian and Ivanka’s friendship drew attention in 2023 when the president’s daughter attended the reality star’s birthday celebration. Kardashian shared a carousel of photos with friends, expressing how much they meant to her. Ivanka appeared in one of the group pictures alongside the mother of four.

Sharing the post, Kardashian penned, “So blessed to have hit the jackpot of friends! I couldn’t have ever dreamed I would be so lucky to call these girls my friends.” Following the post, an insider revealed how deep the bond is between the two women. Ivanka reshared the picture and wrote, “Loved celebrating you! HBD Kim.”

According to Us Weekly, a source revealed that Kardashian and Ivanka’s friendship goes back years. The insider said, “Kim and Ivanka have been friends for years and have hung out on a number of occasions.” “They initially bonded nearly a decade ago at the Met Gala over motherhood and being new moms. But they continued to connect numerous times over the years,” they further added.

Besides motherhood, the two women also had “mutual passion” for criminal justice reform. They also worked together in taking the issue to the White House. “It’s something they’ve both dedicated a lot of their time to, and it has helped strengthen their friendship even further,” the source said.

Their friendship extended beyond casual parties and conversations. As part of their common mission for criminal justice, they joined hands to advocate for a pardon for Alice Marie Johnson. She visited the White House in 2018 and sat with the Kushners to speak about Johnson serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug-related offense. 

They finally won the legal battle after working with the Trump administration. Johnson was eventually pardoned in 2020. 

Meanwhile, Kardashian has not spoken up about the new controversy. Moreover, Trump has also remained silent on the issue.
