Fans Thought Former NBA Player Married Kim Kardashian After Seeing His Lookalike Bride
Some fans had to do a double-take after they mistakenly thought Kim Kardashian married former Houston Rockets guard and current NBA analyst Kenny Smith.
The former basketball star shared photos from his wedding to Croatian influencer Tia Jurcic, which took place at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California. The pair captioned their joint post, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” with a white heart emoji.
But what fans couldn’t get over was how much Smith’s bride looks like Kardashian.
Some took to Jurcic’s Instagram comments, dubbing her “Another Kim K.” There were also discussions on Threads and Facebook about the resemblance, with numerous users asking, “Did anybody think that was Kim K?” And many admitted that they did.
“That’s his Kim Kardashian … he’ll never tell her that tho,” one person wrote, while another added, “Exactly what I first thought.”
Another commenter chimed in with, “He basically married an Eastern European Kardashian.”
One user thought Jurcic looked more like another celeb though, posting, “Thought that was Nicole Scherzinger.”
The real Kim Kardashian is not currently married. She’s dating Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, who was previously in a relationship with Scherzinger for several years. However, the reality TV star has been married three times.
When the SKIMS founder was 19 years old, she and her then-boyfriend, Damon Thomas, eloped. They were married from 2000 to 2004 before ending things. Kardashian also famously wed former NBA player Kris Humphries in 2011, but that ended after 72 days. Her third marriage was to Kanye West, with whom Kardashian shares four children. Their union lasted from 2014 to 2022.
On an episode of Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Smith recalled how he met his now-wife, saying it was by chance in Abu Dhabi.
Smith recalled that he was there working an event when a young boy named Domenik, who spoke perfect English, approached the two-time NBA champion and told him he was from Croatia. Smith remembered asking Domenik if he was there to see Luka Doncic, but the child replied, “No, I don’t know Luka. I’m just here with my mom.”
Domenik’s mom happened to be Jurcic. She welcomed Domenik when she was married to his father, former basketball player Chris Warren.
Smith jokingly said, “I had my kids there, so I’m like, ‘How do I run game [with] my kids here?’”
He decided to take a picture with Domenik and that got Jurcic’s attention, which is how they started chatting. They announced their engagement in October 2025 and were married in August 2026.
