Hailey Bieber left very little to the imagination with her latest cover shoot. The model went bold for the photoshoot while also reflecting on her Brazilian roots. Sipping a Guaraná Antarctica can, she completed the beachy look with her tan lines.
Bieber turned up the heat for the cover of Ice Magazine. The half-Brazilian model posed on sand for the cover. She flaunted her tanned body except for the part that a pair of thongs covers. In the caption, she wrote, “@icestudios.co Brazil Issue shot by @renellmedrano.”
The shoot drew praise from some of her celebrity friends and fans as Kylie Jenner reacted to it with a crazy face emoji. Khloe Kardashian also slid into the comment section to write, “Meoooow,” at Bieber’s latest shoot.
Some Brazilian social media users criticized Bieber’s shoot, expressing their concern over the racy cover. One of them wrote, “As a Brazilian girl, it is just frustrating to see our culture constantly objectified like this; our country has so much more depth.” Another Brazilian native pointed out that Bieber keeps talking about her roots but did not make Rhode products available in the country. “All Brazilian but nothing from Rhode in Brazil,” the user wrote.
According to USA Today, Bieber reflected on her Brazilian roots in the magazine’s cover story. She sang praises for Renell Medrano, saying that she is the only photographer for whom she could take such a bold step. “I’m comfortable with her pushing me, photographing me differently,” Bieber said.
The beauty mogul further revealed why she took the step for her trusted photographer. The 29-year-old said that she knows Medrano “just wants me to be comfortable in myself, too.”
The magazine also announced a heartwarming step that Bieber took along with posing for its cover. “A portion of every sale of each magazine goes towards supporting the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Women in São Paulo,” they wrote. They further announced that Bieber would match the collected amount for donation and double the total contribution. “WE KNOW AN ICE GIRL WHEN WE SEE ONE !” they further added.
This is not the first time Bieber touched upon her Brazilian roots. She previously spoke about learning skincare from her Brazilian mother and grandmother. According to Vogue, the model shared how she respects her heritage and expressed her fondness for Brazilian culture.
She said, “My mother is Brazilian, and I grew up in a house where she and my grandmother only used organic products, from hair dyes to cleaning products.” “I’ve been surrounded by natural and clean beauty my whole life,” Bieber shared. She also called Gisele Bündchen her all-time icon, explaining how fashion is all about freedom to her.
Bieber further revealed that Brazilian women often inspire her. She referred to photographs of “beautiful and carefree” women at Ipanema beach from the 70s and said, “I look at them, and I see sporty, healthy, fit and fun women.” “It’s all I ever want to be,” the model said.
Bieber was born to American-Brazilian parents. Her father, Stephen Baldwin, is an American actor. On the other hand, her mother, Kennya Deodato Baldwin, is a Brazilian graphic designer.
