Kim Kardashian Admits She ‘Holds Back’ 13-Year-Old North West From Too Much Fame Amid Parenting Backlash
Kim Kardashian has faced criticism over some of her eldest daughter North West’s choices. The internet often slams the beauty mogul for her parenting style amid North’s changing appearance. Kardashian was continuously slammed for letting her daughter get finger piercings and release songs with dark lyrics, and for her fashion choices. Kardashian has now revealed that she sometimes holds North back from taking on every opportunity that comes her way.
The 45-year-old shares her four children with her ex-husband Kanye West. Kardashian often faces brutal backlash for her parenting tactics. However, she does not always allow her daughter to do whatever she wishes.
According to The Times, Kardashian noted that she worries about her kids getting exposed to massive fame. However, she acknowledged that North loves having the spotlight on her. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said, “Each kid does what they’re comfortable with,” before adding, “So, my little ones come around when I’m filming, but they don’t really do storylines.”
She soon addressed her eldest daughter’s love for fame. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said, “North loves it a little bit more than the rest. I hold her back.” “All she wants to do is forward-facing projects,” the SKIMS founder revealed.
Kardashian further shared she does not let her daughter do every project that comes her way. “And so it’s like us really kind of trying to savor those moments and not doing everything that comes her way, so we can really make sure that we manage it the right way,” she revealed.
The mother of four revealed that she has a better relationship with West when it comes to co-parenting their four children. She revealed that her and the rapper’s thoughts align about North’s career. However, Kardashian insisted that she is an “intermediate-strict parent.”
The beauty mogul called herself “extremely patient and loving” when it comes to parenting. “I still have a kid sleep in my bed when they want. I read books with the kids every night,” she shared.
North recently headlined her first solo concert at the Vic Theatre in Chicago. Kardashian and West were both in attendance at the venue as supportive parents. Many fans spotted them dancing and recording their daughter’s concert while also maintaining their own distance.
West often calls North his twin, claiming that their interests align with one another. According to Dazed, the 13-year-old shared what she wishes her future to look like. When asked about the worst piece of advice she ever received, the teenager straight away said, “To start my career later.”
She further revealed that she wants to pursue a career in music. North also clarified that she is not interested in everything children her age are into.
She revealed that she told her mother, “Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff.” “All I want is blue hair and piercings,” the teenager added.

North addressed the controversy herself in a TikTok clip. She recorded herself lip-syncing to the track Why are you crying? The 13-year-old captioned the clip, “This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.”
