Kylie Jenner recently stepped into her sister Kendall Jenner’s area of expertise. The beauty mogul caught everyone off guard with a surprise Victoria’s Secret fashion show appearance. However, she did not walk in a regular bra but wore the Fantasy Bra and brought it back to the runway after eight years. Jenner got the wings for her debut but could not impress VS fans. 

Viewers have not seen the Fantasy Bra take a moment in the past eight years. It was last created for the 2018 VS Fashion Show and worn by Elsa Hosk. According to USA Today, this diamond-embellished piece of lingerie is usually priced over a million dollars. Nevertheless, the one that Jenner wore cost a lot more. 

The latest VS’ crown jewel had 4,410 natural diamonds with a total weight of 1,373.39 carats. It was created in partnership with Jacob & Co. and also featured a 75.54-carat Natural Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond. The bra, which was made with gold and diamonds and not a single piece of cloth, is valued at $50 million. 

Jenner scripted history with her runway debut. The brand previously hinted at bringing their bejewelled tradition back. Although they did not reveal who was going to wear it. Fans guessed it could be the OG VS Angels, but they were proved wrong. Therefore, Jenner’s appearance did not sit well with them. 

An Instagram user wrote, “Wow i’m so surprised with this. I do love Kylie but being objective this is so disrespectful against the models that have had a career for years. That are the OG’s of VS, Kylie is not even a model.” Another critic penned, “This is the most disrespectful s— ever! VS has truly turned into a joke.” “Looked gorgeous but my reaction was disappointment. She’s not even an angel and she got the fantasy bra like plssss,” a third critic noted. 

Some viewers suggested that the brand reached out to the wrong Jenner. “I think Barbara (Palvin) deserves it way more,” another critic penned. One also wrote, “She’s not an angel… she’s pretty, she could’ve walked at any point, but that bra was meant for an OG angel.”

Jenner appeared to have her support systems in the front row cheering for her. Kris Jenner and Timothée Chalamet also caught a lot of attention as they could not stop smiling while the KHY founder walked the runway. 

According to People, the Fantasy Bra had its own story to tell. JACOB & CO. founder Jacob Arabo revealed that he wanted to create the most expensive and historic piece for the fashion show. However, he did not want all the attention to be on its price but also on its story. “For me, it had to be about the diamonds, the light, and the movement,” the jeweler asserted. 

He continued to share that his team brought high-quality diamonds in different shapes and sizes for the bra to catch light while on the runway. The bejeweled piece also had their “proprietary Angel-Cut,” making it go into history. “The craft is extraordinary, and what matters most is the emotion it creates when you see it come to life on the runway,” the jeweler added.
