Kim Kardashian recently reflected on her marriages, divorces, and pregnancies. The beauty mogul, who was shot to fame with her reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, has had several high-profile romances. Her longest one was with Kanye West, with whom she shares her four children. However, the SKIMS founder recently revealed that when she got pregnant the first time, she needed “some time to think” about it.

Kardashian and West’s eldest daughter is North West, whom they welcomed in 2013. The couple was dating at the time when they conceived her. According to The Cut, the reality TV star opened up about her first pregnancy in Jonathan Van Meter’s upcoming book Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future.

In an excerpt from the upcoming biography, Kardashian detailed how she felt when she got pregnant with North. In 2012, she stopped her birth control medication and went to a fertility clinic with Khloé. It was the time when the Good American founder was trying to have a child with Lamar Odom. 

Kardashian and Khloé underwent fertility testing together. “And I was like, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll get all my blood tests with you so it won’t be scary.’ And we did it together,” the 45-year-old recalled. She added, “And then the results came back: ‘Khloé, you’re fine. But Kim? You have some problems.’” 

She learned that she was pregnant at the time. Kardashian explained, “I never had a pregnancy scare or anything in my life, so I just went to Miami without birth control and got pregnant that first month.” The news made her think that her “life was over.” Therefore, she then broke the news to her then-boyfriend, West, crying. 

“I was crying so hard I couldn’t get it out,” Kardashian shared. Hearing her cry, the Donda rapper thought she had lost a family member. He kept on asking her what had happened, to which she responded, “Oh my God, I’m pregnant.” 

Kardashian shared that she was in a state of shock after learning about her pregnancy. She recalled that she conceived after her doctors told her she had “the uterus of a 50-year-old” and the only chance to get pregnant for her was through IVF. 

The decision to keep the child was ultimately hers. Therefore, she told West that she needed a week to think and did not want to talk to anyone. By the end of the week, she had made up her mind and said, “Okay, let’s move forward and let’s have a baby.”

During his presidential rally, Ye declared that Kardashian initially wanted to abort their first child. According to People, it was the time when the rapper announced his presidential bid and was doing his first campaign in South Carolina. The I Wonder crooner announced that his then-wife thought of aborting North for three months. 

Quoting the Bible, he said, “In the Bible, it says, ‘Thou shall not kill.’” The rapper continued to share that it was he who ultimately put his foot down. West claimed that he was in Paris, working, when he had a revelation from God. “And God said, ‘If you f— with my vision, I’m gonna f— with yours.’ And I called my wife, and she said, ‘We’re gonna have this baby,’ and I said, ‘We’re gonna have this child,’” the rapper claimed.
