On the heels of the Los Angeles premiere of Smurfs, Rihanna redefined maternity chic by stepping out in a sculptural white Alaïa ensemble. The look included a hooded knit crop top paired with a sequined, low‑rise maxi skirt featuring a padded waistband. The look they chose from Rihanna was one she sported in March 2025 while out to dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. Rihanna wore a Mason Alaïa Cocoon Wrap Wool Coat costing $6,155. To accessorize the look, she carried a Fendi ’90s bag with a fur tail for $2,850. Rihanna then wore Gianvi Torossi Hansen Leather Knee Boots, which go for $1,874. This brings the grand total price for the outfit up to $10,879.

Rihanna’s $11,000 dinner outfit doesn’t seem so expensive compared to her eye-popping outfit in January 2022. On Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, Rihanna was spotted in a pink puffer jacket designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1996 while strolling through New York City with A$AP Rocky. The puffer was found on resale for $10,672, according to Us Weekly.
Rihanna paired the unique puffer with jewelry that stood out, including a LACROIX gold cross featuring large gemstones and a Briony Raymond Vintage Chunky Signet Ring. The gold cross had a resale value of $5,500, while the ring had a resale value of $18,500.
With just the jacket and the jewels alone, Rihanna’s 2022 outfit was worth over $34,000 — and that doesn’t include the cost of her low-rise jeans and double-strand Chanel belt.
The stylish mogul won’t ever buy maternity jeans
Rihanna made it clear that she never intends on wearing maternity clothing, no matter how far along her pregnancies get.
“It’s been me personally saying, I’m not going to buy maternity clothes,” she told Bustle. “I’m not gonna buy maternity pants, jeans, dresses, or [do] whatever society told me to do before.”
She noted that she challenged herself to “have fun” with her maternity style. “Because there’s nothing more fun than a challenge for me,” she noted. “Like, that’s where I get creative. That’s where I’m forced to come up with new ideas and new ways to make it work.”
