Orlando Bloom is navigating a new chapter in his life after the end of his nearly decade-long relationship with Katy Perry. The couple, engaged since Valentine’s Day 2019 and parents to their 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, quietly parted ways in late June 2025 amid growing distance. Choosing amicability over acrimony, the exes have committed to co-parenting and maintaining a stable environment for Daisy. In the wake of the split, Bloom has embraced a sense of liberation. He attended high-profile events like Jeff Bezos’s lavish Venice wedding. And he also posted reflective Buddhist quotes about new beginnings on Instagram and reconnected with creative peers. Here’s what a brand expert said about Bloom’s ability to “rebrand” himself while Perry faces an “uphill battle.”

Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s nine-year relationship seems to have come to an end. And Perry’s faced a tough year thus far. She faced immense scrutiny for heading to space in the all-female Blue Origin flight. And her album and subsequent tour were hit hard by fans and critics alike. The chaos seemed to have worn on her and her fiancé. Now, PR and brand expert Chad Teixeira thinks Bloom is perfectly positioned for a “soft rebrand.”

“The breakup has created a brand window for Orlando, and one that he’s stepping into with just the right amount of presence,” Teixeira told MailOnline. “He’s not chasing the spotlight, but he’s not hiding either. That’s a savvy move in today’s fame economy, and it’ll stand him in better stead when Katy’s fame is disappearing more than ever.”

The expert added that the breakup appears “incredibly well-timed” for Bloom.

“In the wake of a high-profile relationship that often placed him in the shadow of Perry’s headline-making career, Orlando now has the opportunity to reestablish his own narrative independent of her increasingly complex public perception,” Teixeira continued.

As for Perry, she faces an “uphill battle of redefining her musical and commercial identity.” But Bloom “is benefiting from the simplicity and clarity of stepping out on his own at a moment when the cultural conversation around him is more curious than critical.”

The exes allegedly believe their split is ‘better for Daisy’

Separating after nearly a decade together isn’t easy. However, a source told People that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom agree that separating is best for their daughter, Daisy.

“At a certain point, they had to admit it’s better for Daisy to see their parents separately; then she won’t grow up feeling the tension and animosity,” the source alleged.

Another source claimed Bloom and Perry want to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship so they can be around her “separately or together.”

“They are there for Daisy and have been,” the insider explained. “Daisy is their angel, and they want to protect her from anything adverse.”

Katy Perry appeared to cry at the end of her show in Australia

Katy Perry’s “Lifetimes Tour” marked her return to the global arena stage. The tour launched in April 2025 with a vibrant 83-date world tour. Perry blends classic hits like “Firework” and “Dark Horse” with deep cuts and selections from her latest album, 143. With a futuristic, sci-fi-themed production, complete with aerial acrobatics, elaborate costumes, and a playful video-game narrative, her performances have been praised as “Disneyland on wheels,” despite mixed reactions to certain choreography and staging choices.

A clip posted to X shows Perry nearly crying on stage at the end of her show in Australia. She played the show days after the news of her and Orlando Bloom’s split.

“Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world,” she said, making a heart shape with her hands. “Now let’s sing ‘Firework!’” she announced with vigor.
