PK Kemsley Could Play Dirty in Dorit Kemsley Divorce: ‘Nothing Should Surprise Us,’ Expert Says
Dorit and PK Kemsley divorce could get ugly. In early May, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 48, moved to end her 10-year marriage to her businessman husband, 57. The announcement came a year after the couple revealed they were separating.
Dorit cited “irreconcilable differences” as a reason for the split and asked a court to award her custody of their two children, Jagger, 11, and Phoenix, 9, as well as spousal support. But given the couple’s messy finances, it’s possible that Dorit could walk away from the marriage mostly empty-handed. Some have even speculated that PK could go after his wife’s money in the divorce.
Dorit Kemsley may not receive a ‘substantial settlement’ in PK Kemsley divorce
“The financial resolution from this split will be interesting because it seems as if PK has been quite creative with how he has handled his businesses and incomes,” Lisa Robinson a divorce attorney with Rosen Law Firm told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “It looks like there will not be many assets to divide. It does not look like Dorit will receive any type of substantial settlement.”
While the couple’s financial situation is murky, “all reports are that PK is deeply in debt,” Robinson said. Last year, their $7.5 million Encino mansion was reportedly on the verge of slipping into foreclosure after they missed several payments. While they apparently got caught up on their bills, it’s not the first time PK has faced money challenges. PK – an entrepreneur who made his money in real estate and talent management – filed for bankruptcy over a decade ago, has been rumored to have run up gambling debts, and has faced lawsuits over unpaid loans. It’s anyone’s guess how he’ll respond to his ex-wife’s request for support.
“PK has made bold and controversial financial moves throughout his life; nothing should surprise us,” Robinson said.
Dorit might have more success when it comes to her request for sole legal and physical custody of her and PK’s two kids.
“The children will likely spend most of their time with their mother,” Robinson predicted. “PK is obligated to pay child support; he will need to find new sources of income.”
The ‘RHOBH’ star and her husband do not have a prenup
One thing that won’t affect the Bravo star’s divorce settlement? A prenup. Dorit and her husband do not have a prenuptial agreement, she revealed during the RHOBH Season 13 reunion in 2024. When they wed, it didn’t seem necessary.
“I met my husband when he was bankrupt,” she said.
But even if the couple had signed a prenup before saying “I do,” there’s a chance it wouldn’t be valid, Robinson said.
“Even if PK and Dorit had a pre-nup, the validity could be contested because a pre-nup must be entered into with a full disclosure of assets,” she explained. “It does not seem that PK has been clear about his assets and liabilities for a long time. Thus, Dorit likely would not have been protected with a pre-nup.”
