Known for his calm demeanor and affectionate nature, Psalm’s mother often describes him as the “sweetest baby ever,” bringing a sense of tranquility to the family. Over the years, Kardashian has shared glimpses of his life through various themed birthday parties, including a Hulk-themed celebration for his third birthday and a Ghostbusters-themed bash for his fifth. Now, he’s officially 6. We’re looking back at when Kardashian scolded Ellen DeGeneres for assuming she gave her baby a fake gold chain to wear around his neck.

Psalm West, Kim Kardashian and Kanye “Ye” West’s youngest, is officially 6. They welcomed their child via gestational surrogacy following Kardashian’s previous experiences with high-risk pregnancy. In a post on her website, Kim explained that using a gestational carrier was a medically necessary choice, emphasizing that the process was far from an “easy way out.” She clarified that Psalm was biologically hers and Ye’s, as the embryo was created using their genetic material and implanted into the surrogate. The couple expressed immense gratitude for their surrogate, acknowledging her role in expanding their family.

Kardashian is celebrating Psalm’s 6th birthday on May 9. She posted sweet photos of her son to her Instagram Stories. And we’re looking back at the time she seemed appalled at the idea that she would allow her children to wear fake gold.

When Psalm was just 3, Kardashian went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“Psalm is the one wearing the giant chain around his neck,” Ellen DeGeneres clarified on the show after seeing photos of Kardashian’s kids. The host then told the audience, “Oh my God! He wears this fake giant chain ….”

“Wait, did you say fake?” Kardashian corrected as the crowd roared. DeGeneres looked stunned.

“It’s not?” DeGeneres questioned.

“It’s not!” Kardashian said.

“Oh my God, it’s huge!” DeGeneres added. “How can he keep his head up? It looks like a wrestler’s belt or something!”

The reality star has a sweet birthday tradition she follows for her kids

Kim Kardashian likely won’t post too much about her kids on social media, given her current issues with Kanye “Ye” West. Ye posted to X that Kardashian keeps their four children away from him. Kardashian has not publicly commented on the matter. However, sources claim she contacted lawyers.

While fans may not see too much of Psalm West’s 6th birthday bash, Kardashian is likely abiding by her birthday tradition.

“Every year, I write each one of my kids about a four or five-page letter on their birthday about what the year was like, who their friends are, silly words they’re saying, their favorite foods, all the silly things they do, and a little journey of what the year is like,” she said on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast. “It’s so fun to see from the first year now. One of ’em is almost 10 years old. And I know that they’ll appreciate this.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye ‘Ye’ West are at odds over their 4 kids

Rumors are ramping up that Kim Kardashian and Kanye “Ye” West may reenter a custody battle over their four kids. According to TMZ, Ye had his lawyer send Kardashian an alleged cease and desist letter “concerning the welfare and custody of Mr. West’s minor children: North West, Saint West, Chicago West, and Psalm West.” Ye was allegedly upset that Kardashian left North alone in a hotel room during the Met Gala on May 5, 2025.

However, the publication notes that the cease and desist appears fake and was not sent by Ye. The lawyer allegedly works at JB Law Firm in Palma, Spain. TMZ reports no such law firm exists in the town. Sources close to Kardashian claim she is taking the letter as a stunt.
