Ray J has publicly shown his support for hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs amid the music mogul’s ongoing controversies, making it clear that he still views Combs as a mentor and friend despite the backlash surrounding him. The singer and reality star, who has long credited Combs for helping to shape his career and business mindset, has emphasized loyalty and respect in his statements. Most recently, Ray J showed his support for Combs while on Kai Cenat’s live stream. Here’s what happened.

Ray J called himself the ‘new Diddy’ and got himself kicked out of Kai Cenet’s live stream

Ray J recently made an energetic appearance on Kai Cenat’s live stream, bringing his signature mix of humor, unpredictability, and unfiltered commentary to the viral moment. The two traded jokes and stories while Ray J leaned into the spontaneous nature of the broadcast, keeping both Cenat and viewers entertained with his over-the-top antics. Fans noted how Ray J seemed completely at ease in the chaotic environment of the stream, even dropping a few memorable one-liners that quickly circulated on social media.

A streamer friend of Cenat, RayAsianBoy, asked Ray J if he attended parties thrown by Sean “Diddy” Combs. Combs’ parties, known as “freak-offs,” came to light during his federal trial in 2025. Several news outlets reported that celebrities attended the sex and drug-fueled gatherings.

“Have I ever went to a Diddy party?” Ray J answered. “I’m the new Diddy.”

In response, Cenat kicked Ray J out. “Out, out, out, now!” Cenat said repeatedly while standing up after screaming in disbelief. “If I ever see you in this house again, it’s gonna be a problem.”

Then, as Ray J exited the stream, he said, “Free Puffy,” multiple times.

Ray J previously discussed how the public knows too much about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ‘private’ life

Ray J continues to speak out in support of Sean “Diddy” Combs. Over the years, their relationship has extended beyond music. Combs’ business empire and entrepreneurial drive have influenced Ray J’s own ventures into tech and lifestyle branding. The two have been spotted together at industry events and parties. And Ray J often speaks about the impact Combs’ hustle-first mentality has had on his own career moves.

In a clip posted to The Shade Room, Ray J discussed how he feels “haunted” by what the public now knows about Combs.

“The Diddy s***, it haunts me, because it’s like … now we know what this dude, and now we’re in his private business,” Ray J said. “… Diddy didn’t teach us how to have freak-offs, you know? He didn’t teach us that. He taught us other things in business and how to be. And how to represent the culture. Now, he did some weird s***. And it wasn’t OK. At the end of the day, ya’ll, it’s crazy. Asking people what they’re doing in their private time?”

Ray J didn’t address Sean “Diddy” Combs’ “freak-off” parties while on Kai Cenat’s live stream. However, he previously discussed how he never heard the term “freak-offs” before Combs’ arrest.

“Even the word ‘freak-offs,’ we’ve never used that term whenever we went to a Diddy party,” Ray J said while on Piers Morgan Uncensored. “A Diddy party was where most people couldn’t get in, and the top of the top, the A-listers, are out on the scene. … Whatever door they’re talking about — the ‘freaky door’ — I never got an invitation, never knew it existed.”

Ray J noted that he also believes Combs will walk free.
