Ray J and Kim Kardashian’s brief romance in the early 2000s remains one of pop culture’s most talked-about relationships, largely because of the infamous leaked tape that first thrust Kardashian into the public eye. While both have long since moved on, with Kardashian becoming a global entrepreneur and reality TV mogul and Ray J building his own entertainment and tech ventures, their shared past continues to surface in interviews and headlines. Most recently, Ray J said he’s helping the federal law enforcement agents build a RICO case against Kardashian and Kris Jenner, destined to be more severe than Sean “Diddy” Combs’ case. Here’s what he claimed.

Ray J made shocking claims about Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner while speaking to Chrisean Rock during a recent livestream.

“This federal RICO, though, on KK and Kris, oh!” Ray J said, according to a clip posted to X. “The federal RICO I’m about to drop on Kris and Kim is about to be crazy. I’m talking about I’m on the news every day, like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Meaning, like, I’m gonna say a lot of s***.”

Ray J went on to say that anybody who’s “cool” with Kardashian should “tell her now” that this is coming down the pipeline. “The rain is coming,” he continued. “The feds are coming. … It’s nothing I can do about it. It’s worse than Diddy.”

Ray J didn’t appear to elaborate further on what he and “the feds” are allegedly planning for the Kardashian-Jenner “momager” and famous daughter. But Ray J has quite a history with Kardashian. Ray J’s past with Kim Kardashian dates back to the early 2000s, when the two struck up a relationship while moving in the same Hollywood social circles. At the time, Kardashian was working as a stylist and personal assistant, and Ray J was carving out his own path as an R&B singer and actor after early success on TV shows like Moesha. Their romance became public knowledge years later when a private tape of the couple was leaked in 2007.

Reddit users aren’t quite sure what to make of Ray J’s claims. Some users said that if Ray J is telling the truth about working with federal agents to build a RICO case against the Kardashian-Jenners, then that could have “huge” consequences for the family. However, if he really was doing this, he likely wouldn’t talk about it so publicly.

“As bizarre as Ray J saying this on Chrisean Rock’s podcast, if this is true, this would be huge, but I’m very, very doubtful,” one Reddit user commented. “If he was working with the feds, he wouldn’t be publicly blabbering about it.”

“Would I be surprised about a RICO case against the Kardashians? No,” another user wrote. “Do I think Ray J would be a key player in building said RICO case? Also, still no.”

In a memorable 2022 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Kris Jenner agreed to take a lie detector test to address long-standing speculation about her involvement in the release of Kim Kardashian’s 2007 sex tape with Ray J. Hooked up to the polygraph, Jenner was directly asked if she had any role in orchestrating the tape’s leak. She firmly answered “no,” and the examiner confirmed she was telling the truth.

According to The U.S. Sun, Ray J called out Jenner via a video posted to social media.

“You f***ed with THE WRONG BLACK MAN Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian — I don’t give a f*** how old this s*** is!” Ray J said.

“What you trying to do to me is almost inhumane and foul at the highest level — f*** this being just racist — this is wrong to do to anybody,” he continued. “You think you can just f*** people over and get away with it forever! That’s where you are wrong.”
