Ray J’s Bleeding Eye Performance Sends Fans Into a Frenzy of Concern and Speculation
Ray J’s health saga just took another strange turn.
Over the weekend, the singer took the stage for a Valentine’s Day concert in Shreveport, Louisiana. In footage from the performance that was shared on social media, blood appeared to be running from his eyes. He also showed the audience what looked like a heart monitor on his chest.
“IM PUTTING MY LIFE ON THE LINE FOR THIS SHOW!!” Ray J teased on Facebook ahead of the concert.
The alarming video has sparked fresh concern for Ray J’s health. It comes just weeks after he shared he’d been hospitalized with pneumonia and might not have long to live. In January, he shared he planned to travel to Haiti to seek alternative treatment.
Fans worry – and wonder – about Ray J’s health
As video from the February 14 performance circulated online, fans expressed their concern for Ray J’s health.
“I pray your health gets better,” someone commented on his Instagram.
“May god keeps you safe and help you to get better,” shared another fan.
While many shared their hopes for his speedy recovery, others wondered if the alarming clip was actually evidence of a stunt.
“If you’re really in end stage liver failure and your heart only functioning at 25%, you would not have this much energy to be performing,” a skeptic wrote.
“He’s searching for attention. He needs help,” one person wrote on Facebook.
Ray J has said that his health challenges stem from abusing drugs and alcohol. In an Instagram video from January, he expressed hope that he would recover.
“I want to thank everybody for praying for me. I was in a hospital,” he said. “My heart’s only beating like 25%, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right.”
