‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Teddi Mellencamp says all of her tumors have ‘shrunk or disappeared’

Teddi Mellencamp of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fame has been sharing her journey since her stage 2 melanoma diagnosis in 2022. Since then, the cancer spread to her brain and lungs, giving her a stage 4 diagnosis. In recent interviews, Mellencamp shared how she felt terrified for her future, as she wasn’t sure she would survive to see her kids grow up.

However, Mellencamp came through with good news via Instagram on April 23, 2025.

“I just finished with all of my scans, and my tumors have significantly shrunk,” she said, smiling, “which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good. I have two more sessions of immunotherapy, and then, hopefully, I am done, and I will be cancer-free. I’m going to keep a positive outlook, because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me. He’s like, ‘You did this. You got this.'”

Mellencamp elaborated on her cancer prognosis in the post’s caption. “One update I couldn’t wait to share!” she wrote. “All tumors (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course [sic]. Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity.”

“Tomorrow is a big day,” she wrote as she panned her phone camera around her head. “I get another MRI to see if treatment is working. I also have another round of immunotherapy. Feeling positive and also sad and scared.”

She then posted a photo showing the intense brain surgery she had in February 2025. Mellencamp had multiple brain tumors removed, resulting in surgical staples on her skull. In early March 2025, she shared a selfie after the staple removal. The photo that Mellencamp shared on her Instagram Stories on April 22, 2025, shows the staples trailing from the front of her head to the base of her skull.

Teddi Mellencamp previously said her doctors gave her a 50/50 chance to live

Before her hopeful update, Teddi Mellencamp said her doctors gave her a 50% chance of survival given her advanced cancer stage.

“One of my favorite things to ask is, ‘How long I got?’ Or, ‘What are my chances?’ And they oftentimes say, ’50/50,’” she said on ABC News’ Nightline in April 2025. “I wouldn’t buy a car that’s only gonna drive 50% of the time. I don’t want this.”

Mellencamp explained how the newness of the immunotherapy treatments made doctors hesitant. “[My doctor’s] like, ‘No, it’s only because that’s how long immunotherapy has been around, so that’s how long the study has worked.’ … Immunotherapy has only been around 10 years,” she said. “I really like to have control, and this is completely out of my control, and for the first time, I’m like, really scared.”
