‘RHOP’ Star Karen Huger Is Getting Out of Prison Early
Karen Huger will soon be a free woman.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star is set to be released from prison on September 2. That’s more than six months ahead of her expected February 2026 release date. The Jasmine Brand was first to report the news.
In December 2024, the Bravo personality was convicted of driving under the influence and other charges stemming from a March 2024 incident in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she crashed her Maserati into several street signs and a pole. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the single-car accident.
After her conviction, Huger, 62, was sentenced two years in jail with one year suspended and ordered to pay a $2,900 fine. She has been behind bars at the Montgomery County Detention Center in Rockville, Maryland, since February 2025. After her release, she will serve five years probation. She’ll also be banned from driving for one year.
As of now ,there’s no word on the Grande Dame’s plans for her post-release life, including whether she’ll return to reality TV. Huger will not appear in RHOP Season 10, which premieres October 5, as she was locked up during filming. Bravo hasn’t commented on her future with the show, though doing hard time isn’t a dealbreaker for the network. RHONJ star Teresa Giudice, who was convicted of fraud, resumed filming after she was released from prison in 2015.
