‘RHOSLC’ Star Britani Bateman Will ‘Never’ Speak to Meredith Marks Again After Accusations of Antisemitism: ‘A Hateful Thing to Say’
Meredith Marks and Britani Bateman’s feud is turning ugly.
Things have been tense between The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars throughout season 6. But the situation escalated during the flight home from the cast’s Below Deck Down Under charter trip. That’s when Britani and Meredith got into a heated – and unrecorded – argument over an allegedly antisemitic nail technician.
Meredith Marks and Britani Bateman face off during ‘RHOSLC’ reunion
During part 2 of the RHOSLC reunion, which aired January 20, Meredith claimed that Britani had publicly “supported” a nail technician who they’d both worked with in the past. Even though the nail tech had accused of “bigotry,” Britani had honored their request to write a positive review of their services, Meredith told host Andy Cohen. When Meredith, who is Jewish, confronted Britani about the review, she was “nasty and condescending.”
Britani pushed back against Meredith’s “hurtful” allegations. She said that once she understood why her co-star was so upset, she apologized and tried to comfort her. But according to Meredith, Britani’s apology was just a way of making herself the victim in the situation. That prompted Britani to storm off stage at the end of the episode.
Britani accuses Meredith of ‘bullying’ her
Now, Britani has vowed to never again film with Meredith. She says the other woman bullied her by dredging up drama they’d settled prior to filming season 6.
“She used this as an excuse to be bullying me at the beginning of the season, and we hashed it out off camera and she told me, she said, ‘Look, I may have overreacted, but I feel like, you know, I got death threats when I did my bat mitzvah,’ and I apologized profusely, and we ended this,” Britani said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show on January 21. “It was done and buried, and so for her to bring this up as an excuse to bully me on the plane, as like, ‘Well, she deserved it because,’ that’s what made me, that’s what made me lose my mind.”
Britani characterized Meredith’s move as “a low blow.”
“There’s nothing worse than accusing someone of hating a whole race of people, a whole group of people, for no reason,” she added.
“It’s just such a, it’s a hateful thing to say,” the Bravo star continued. “I realize I will never see an apology from Meredith over anything ever, so I’m not even waiting around for that. I’m just so disappointed, I guess, that someone would go that low and on national television, international television. You can’t come back from that.”
“It’s a cruel, cruel, uncalled for, unbased, no basis for, thing to say about another human being. It’s one of the worst things you can call someone and I will not accept an apology for that ever. It’s not OK. I will never be in her presence again,” Britani said.
“I won’t film with her … I won’t, I won’t, I won’t,” she added. “Anyone that’s willing to really get that ugly, no. I won’t.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 reunion continues January 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo and streaming the next day on Peacock.
