In April 2024, Rihanna got real with Interview Magazine about life with two young children. She’s the mother of RZA, 3, and Riot, 2. Rihanna debuted her third baby bump at the 2025 Met Gala, shocking fans. While speaking to Interview, she admitted that she’ll occasionally feel “bummy” while next to A$AP Rocky, as he always wants to dress up for every occasion.
“I feel like, godd***, I look like his assistant,” the Fenty Beauty creator admitted. “I’m getting on a plane. We should be in sweats. He wants to be in a full Bottega suit. I’m like, ‘Why you got to do that to me?'”
Rihanna noted that she and Rocky aren’t competitive with their looks. Instead, she thinks more functionally now that she has two young kids. “It’s more like I spend my time getting the kids dressed to death, and then I’m like, ‘What’s the most comfortable outfit to wear around them? What’s not going to feel uncomfortable on their face, or on their body, or make me feel like I can’t hold them properly?’ Moms are lazy dressers in real life.”

Rihanna admitted that she often wants to wear comfortable clothing for herself and her kids, whereas A$AP Rocky always wants to look his best. However, Rihanna’s version of comfort doesn’t include maternity clothing. In April 2022, she told Vogue that she has “too much fun” getting dressed up and would never resort to shopping in a clothing store’s maternity section.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle,'” she told Vogue. “I’m sorry — it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”
In the same interview, Rihanna acknowledged that the closest maternity-friendly outfit she wore was the black lace Dior cocktail frock. She and her stylist had the lining removed, leaving the dress transparent. “To me that dress is actually the closest thing to maternity clothes that I’ve worn so far,” she told Vogue. “And we hadn’t really done lady that whole time. So I was like, ‘Let’s do lady!’”
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky ‘always wanted a big family,’ a source says
An insider spoke to People in May 2025 about Rihanna’s third baby with A$AP Rocky. The couple is overjoyed to be expecting another child.
“Rihanna has always wanted a big family, so she couldn’t be more excited,” the source said. “Rihanna and Rocky are thrilled to be growing their family, and they can’t wait to give their boys another sibling. They wanted to have their children close together in age so that they could grow up together and share a close bond. They feel so blessed and are so grateful for this next chapter in their lives. It’s a very special time.”
