Rihanna Might’ve Just Revealed That Her Sons Are Team Girl for Baby No. 3
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are embracing parenthood in style. Their two sons, RZA, now 3, and Riot, nearly 2, recently made a sweet red carpet debut just as the couple announced they’re expecting baby No. 3. Rihanna revealed the news at the Met Gala on May 5, 2025, debuting a dramatic baby bump in a Marc Jacobs ensemble while Rocky proudly co‑chaired the event. The brothers are likely thrilled to take on their new roles as big siblings. And did Rihanna just give a clue that RZA and Riot are hoping they have a little sister when the baby comes? Here’s what she said.
Rihanna might’ve given a clue suggesting her sons, RZA and Riot, want a baby sister
Rihanna is glowing through her third pregnancy, embracing motherhood with her signature mix of confidence, edge, and effortless style. Already mom to two boys — RZA and Riot — with partner A$AP Rocky, the global superstar revealed baby number three with a stunning red carpet appearance that sent fans into a frenzy. While the couple has kept many details private, Rihanna has hinted that this pregnancy feels different, fueling speculation that a baby girl might be on the way.
In July 2025, Rihanna spoke to Access Hollywood at the Smurfs premiere. She revealed how she connects to the character of Smurfette, especially in her “leadership” and “determination.” The conversation then turned to Rihanna’s pregnancy and two young sons.
“Are they looking for a Smurfette or a Smurf?” the interviewer asked, which was met with Rihanna’s laughter.
“You talking about here?” she asked, pointing to her pregnant belly. “They’re looking for something that’s not blue.”
Rihanna might’ve just been referring to the color of the Smurfs with her comment. However, with blue typically referencing baby boys, she might’ve just slyly also said that her sons hope to have a baby sister.
In another interview with Extra, she revealed how she wants a baby girl, too. “Are you guys going to be so hurt if it’s a boy? I’ve always wanted a girl,” she said. “But God knows best, right? And I love my boys.”
