Rihanna’s long-awaited return to the stage is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated tours of the decade. According to multiple reports, the superstar prepared a monumental 2025 world tour, aligned with the release of her highly anticipated ninth album, dubbed R9 by fans, marking her first full studio project since 2016’s Anti. Unfortunately, reports now suggest Rihanna is scrapping her plans for a 2025 tour. However, she allegedly wants to get back on stage in 2026 after “issues” arose this year.

Rihanna is allegedly ‘confident’ she can make a 2026 music tour happen after encountering ‘issues’ in 2025

Rihanna fans hoped to see the musician hit the stage with a new tour in 2025. In March 2025, The Sun revealed that the legend booked dates in July 2025 at West Ham’s London Stadium. Unfortunately, she allegedly canceled those dates after getting “cold feet” over unfinished music.

“Rihanna hasn’t toured in over eight years, and the plan to get her back on stage has been ongoing for at least three,” a source told the publication at the time. “She had been eager to get back to it because the demand is certainly there, but she got cold feet.”

Now, another source tells The Sun that Rihanna feels “ready” to debut new music on stage in 2026.

“Rihanna pulled the plug just days before her 2025 tour was due to be announced. There ended up being issues with production and scheduling conflicts, plus she didn’t feel like her music was ready,” the source alleged. “But Rihanna and her team are now confident they can make it work for next year.”

The insider alleged that the 2026 tour will coincide with the 10th anniversary of Anti. Additionally, “fans can expect to hear her new music, too.”

“Rihanna might be pregnant with her third baby, but she is the ultimate working mum and has the support of her partner, A$AP Rocky,” the source continued. “It’s going to be incredible for her fans, and she can’t wait to be back out on stage.”

Rihanna said her new album won’t be anything that her fans expect to hear

While Rihanna hasn’t released a studio album since 2016, she’s still been working hard on creating new music. She told Harper’s Bazaar that her fans won’t expect what they’re going to hear, but she’s entering a new phase of her personal “artistry” that she’s in love with.

“This is becoming my new freedom, because when I’m in the studio, I know that my time away from my kids is to blossom something that hasn’t been watered in eight years,” she explained in early 2025. “I’ve been in the studio the whole eight years. But it didn’t hit me. I was searching for it. I went through phases of what I wanted to do. ‘This kind of album, not that album.’ I know it’s not going to be anything that anybody expects. And it’s not going to be commercial or radio digestible. It’s going to be where my artistry deserves to be right now. I feel like I’ve finally cracked it, girl!”
