Rihanna spoke to Vogue in April 2024 about her ever-evolving approach to high fashion. In the past, she attended the Met Gala in cropped tops and low-cut party dresses. Rihanna explained how that has completely changed now that she’s older with children of her own.

“I’ve done so much sh** in my life,” she reflected. “I’ve had my nipples out, my panties out. But now, those are the things which, I guess as a mum and an evolved young lady — emphasis on young — there are things I feel like I would never do. Like, ‘Oh my God, I really did that? Nips out?'”

Rihanna fans shouldn’t expect to see her hit the red carpet in anything too risqué moving forward. However, she’s still willing to turn heads with her Savage x Fenty looks. Rihanna often posts photos to her Instagram to show off her lingerie collection. In April 2025, she turned heads with a bridal look that had fans wondering if this meant she and A$AP Rocky were ready to tie the knot. The ad featured Rihanna in an all-pink look that screamed femininity.

On May 1, 2025, she posted another photo to her Instagram showing her in her undergarments while wearing black high heels. She captioned the post, “soft N savage.” Rihanna posted the photo just days before the 2025 Met Gala. So, while she’s not willing to go partially nude on the red carpet, she’s not shying away from using her page (and herself as a model) to promote her lingerie line.

So, will Rihanna stick to her word and stay relatively covered for future in-person events? Fans will have to wait and see.
