‘Rock the Block’ Star Brooke Hogan Waited Tables as She Worked to Get Home Design Business Off the Ground
Brooke Hogan didn’t want a handout.
“I was never like, wanting to take daddy’s money,” the daughter of pro wrestler Hulk Hogan says in the April 13 season premiere of HGTV’s Rock the Block.
While Brooke is best known for her time on reality TV (in Hogan Knows Best and Brooke Knows Best) and her career as a singer, she has a side that fewer people know about: interior designer.
“A lot of people don’t know that I’ve had my own design business for about eight years decorating short-term rentals in Nashville,” she shared in the first episode of the renovation competition series, where she’s paired up with HGTV star Scott McGillivray.
Brooke Hogan built her design business with ‘no help from anybody else’

Brooke built her business “with, like, no capital, no help from anybody else,” she shared, saying that she found her way to Nashville and interior design after rootless period following the end of Brooke Knows Best.
“What I think a lot of people don’t know is that I’ve never been somebody that worked off my dad’s money. My parents got me to a certain place, obviously. We had the TV show. But the second I got Brooke Knows Best, I was off on my own,” she said. “I finally landed in Nashville and started this design business decorating short-term rentals.”
Brooke was eager to make her business work. But like many entrepreneurs, getting things off the ground was hard.
“It was really a struggle in the beginning,” she said. “There was a time where I thought I was going to go under because I was spending more than I was making and didn’t have a lot in savings. I was like, ‘This is either going to make or break me.’”
To make ends meet, she took an unglamorous second job.
“I actually even waiting tables in Nashville at one point,” she said. “I was working 23-hour days and living on coffee and protein bars. And then I started loving it and it became something I was really good at and really proud of.”
‘Rock the Block’ star hopes dad Hulk Hogan would be ‘proud’ of her
Brooke’s independence was hard-won. She sees her stint on Rock the Block as a “fresh start” and an opportunity to show the world of different side of herself.
“I’m not just Hulk Hogan’s daughter. Rock the Block is my chance to prove I do have design chops.”
Her one regret? Her father will not be able to see her in action on the show. Brooke and Hulk had been estranged for years at the time of his death in July 2025.
“I told my husband, ‘I wonder if my dad would be proud, knowing that I’m doing this?’ He was the one who told me to get my real estate license … I hope he is proud,” she said.
Rock the Block premieres April 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV. Episodes also stream on HBO Max.
