After Prince Harry said that he wants to reconcile with his brother, many were wondering what Prince William thought about that.

In his “One More Question” interview with GQ, the Duke of Sussex said, “People look at us, and go ‘How are you going to work it out?’ Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point.”

But would the future king be open to that given everything Harry has said about him and the rest of the royals over the years? Well, one family member already tried to make that happen, but to no avail.

An insider told Closer that William does not even speak about his sibling these days, explaining, “He’s stopped complaining about Harry and Meghan and is now acting like they don’t even exist instead. The courtiers are trying to get them together to talk about doing some sort of tribute to Diana, and Harry is all for it, but William has refused and is continuing to act as though Harry and Meghan are banished when they’re clearly right there at his doorstep.”

In addition to the courtiers, one member of the family has actually tried on numerous occasions to help the princes sort things out. That person who reportedly did put forth an effort to try and get the brothers to reconcile is Zara Tindall’s husband, Mike Tindall.

Royal editor Emily Andrews wrote in Woman and Home magazine, “Harry has always been close to Zara and Mike Tindall. Mike repeatedly tried to broker reconciliation between the brothers by inviting both of them to dinner or drinks — or just to knock heads over a beer. It came to naught.”

Andrews added that even though Mike had hoped it would work, “in reality, it’s likely to be up to the king to knock [his sons’] heads” together.

It’s not known what Mike’s relationship with Harry is like today, but the retired rugby player recently made a comment about a time long ago “when Harry was fun, perhaps implying how he feels about the duke now.”

Mike’s remark came during the 2026 Hay Festival while talking with his The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast co-hosts.

Mike was joking about how some guests behaved and embarrassed themselves at his wedding when he quipped, “A lot of other people managed that way better than you — [like] Harry, when he was fun.”
