‘Envy and Anger’: William and Kate’s Night With Tom Cruise Leaves Harry and Meghan ‘Pulling Their Hair Out’
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s night with Tom Cruise has drawn a reaction from royal biographer Tom Bower. According to the Express, he claimed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be watching from the Cotswolds with “envy and anger.”
“It was marvelous. One can imagine in the Cotswolds this morning, the Sussexes are pulling their hair out with envy and anger,” Bower said on GB News. Bower joined presenters Alex Armstrong and Ellie Costello to discuss William and Middleton’s appearance at the Digger premiere.
Bower said William and Middleton were simply carrying on with royal duties. “Of course, it’s business as usual. And hopefully the Waleses will appear a lot more to snap the oxygen out of the Sussexes’ campaign against the Royal Family,” he added.
The couple stepped out for the world premiere on September 22. The event was held at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square in London. It was also the 73rd Royal Film Performance. Cruise greeted the pair and chatted with them on the red carpet.
The Mission: Impossible actor even complimented William’s outfit. According to Hello!, he called it a “great jacket.” William wore a black velvet tuxedo jacket with a bow tie. Meanwhile, Middleton donned a purple Jenny Packham gown. She paired it with earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana.
She also wore the Queen Mother’s sautoir necklace. The premiere was also held in support of the Film and TV charity. It supports people working in the U.K. film and television industry. It offers help with finances, mental health, and other challenges.
William and Middleton previously joined Cruise at the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022. They also crossed paths at Wimbledon that summer. The royal family has known the Hollywood star for years. His connection with them goes back to Diana.
Cruise first met Diana in 1992. He and Nicole Kidman met her at the London premiere of Far and Away. Cruise was also among the famous guests who attended Diana’s funeral in 1997 at Westminster Abbey.
William and Middleton’s latest appearance came just before Harry had a packed day in New York on September 23. He first spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting. There, he talked about children, social media, and AI.
Harry then headed to the Skift Global Forum. He spoke about travel, conservation, and his work with Travalyst. His day did not end there. Harry also stopped by a National Geographic and De Beers event linked to Botswana’s Okavango region.
Later, he made a surprise appearance at a Diana Award panel. The panel focused on young people and the future of work. Markle was not with Harry for any of his New York appearances, though. She stayed back in Britain while Harry flew across the Atlantic.
But Markle was not completely out of sight. She was spotted just two days earlier at a pub in Oxfordshire with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. Then, on September 23, her friend Kelly McKee Zajfen shared a visit with the Sussexes, including pictures of Markle.
