King Charles Told to ‘Get Rid of the Sussexes’ in Blunt Royal Expert Warning
Prince Harry got to mend his relationship with his father, King Charles, about six years after the infamous Megxit. The Duke of Sussex has been asking for a reconciliation since last year. However, once he got the opportunity, he grabbed it and brought his family back to the U.K. His easy relocation did not impress many, as one royal expert recently labeled Charles “weak” for letting Harry return to his homeland.
According to Radar Online, Charles was labeled “weak” by royal biographer Tom Bower on The Royalist podcast. Host Tom Sykes claimed that the people of the U.K. are not happy to see their monarch being humiliated by the Sussexes. The expert continued to claim that Charles is “rolling out the red carpet, providing him with protection vehicles. Giving him every courtesy of being a royal while saying he’s not, appearing to be trying to have his cake and eat it.”
Sykes further pointed out that Charles’ such behavior is becoming a bad “legacy-defining decision” of his reign. He further pointed out that the sovereign not only allowed his younger son to return to the U.K. after humiliating him, but also he did not even express his dissatisfaction.
Bower agreed with everything Sykes said and cited the reason behind the monarch’s decision. He said, “I think absolutely, because that’s the problem. He is weak.” The expert also suggested that Charles is not fond of confrontation. Moreover, he feels guilty that Harry was treated as a spare during his childhood, especially after his mother, Princess Diana, passed away.
The expert explained that the condition in which Charles and Harry stand is a “great mess.” He noted that the royal family would have kept the feud hidden if they were in the past. However, with the 24-hour media attention, they cannot hide it.
Bower suggested that Charles must make a decision as soon as possible. He claimed that the monarch has to decide to “get rid of” the Sussexes. “Make sure that they don’t believe that they can ever become royals here again,” Bower said, addressing the decision the King must make. He claimed that this is the agenda the palace has to stick with.
Following his suggestions to Charles, Bower addressed the letter the sovereign sent out to his staff. In the letter, the monarch clarified that Harry and Markle will remain non-working royals. Moreover, he informed his staffers that there will be no change in their status and they will be treated as “private citizens.
According to the BBC, the letter came as a surprise to the Sussexes. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess said that they were “a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.” Royal sources disagreed with the statement, claiming the couple was made aware of the letter before it went public.
Several government organizations received the letter. The list included Harry’s team, military officials, Lord Lieutenants, and various other departments. Despite their non-royal status, the Sussexes have made three quasi-royal appearances in Nottingham ever since their return. They met with public members and interacted with them.
