Meghan Markle faced a sharp dig about her acting career on Saturday Night Live UK. The cold open began with Prince Harry and Markle exploring Sandringham. Markle first recalled an awkward moment involving her grandfather-in-law and Beyoncé.

“Look, this is where your grandpa asked if I was related to Beyoncé,” she said. Harry replied, “Classic. And over here, this is where he asked if I was related to him.” Soon, Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived. According to Deadline, William greeted his brother with the nickname “Prince Ginger Pubes.”

The Duke replied, “I told you not to call me that because you know I don’t have a comeback.” Middleton then spotted Markle and called her “the woman from Suits.” Harry then added, “She’s not on Suits anymore. She doesn’t do anything anymore.”

Markle played Rachel Zane in Suits before leaving the legal drama in 2017. She then married Harry the next year. Meanwhile, the sketch aired on October 10 and was hosted by Danny Dyer. It featured Freddie Meredith as William, Annabel Marlow as Middleton, Jack Shep as Harry, and Ayoade Bamgboye as Markle.

The sketch also featured fictional versions of King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Andrew’s character arranged the awkward reunion between the two brothers and their wives.

He also referenced his controversial 2019 Newsnight interview with a joke about Pizza Express in Woking. The sketch also mocked Andrew’s loss of royal status. When Charles addressed him without his former title, Andrew protested, “That’s Prince Andrew to you.”

Charles responded, “Enough is enough. You’re arrogant. You’re entitled. You represent an outdated institution that has had centuries of war, tax evasion, and slavery, and that’s all great, but you have also been accused of terrible things, and that’s where I draw the line.”

Andrew replied, “I swear, I never believed for one moment that my actions would have consequences.” The show had already taken an aim at Harry and Markle in its second-season premiere on September 12.

The fictional reunion began when Harry and Markle entered Balmoral Castle, where Charles didn’t seem pleased to see them. “What do you two want? Don’t tell me you’ve spent that Netflix money already,” Charles’ character asked. Harry replied, “Daddy, it was $60 million. How long was it meant to last? I’m not asking for much.”

Charles also took a dig at Harry for quitting royal duties in 2020. His character asked why they were back and reminded them that Balmoral was for “royals only.” Camilla was nicer at first. She greeted Markle with, “As brown as ever.” Markle’s character then tried to win Camilla over with a gift. She handed her a block of ice and claimed she’d made it herself.

The joke took a dig at Markle’s Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan. “Gee, thanks. Hey, step-Queen, I brought you a gift: It’s ice. I made it myself. I can give you the recipe; I’m kind of a whiz in the kitchen,” she said. Harry then added, “It’s true. She hires the best cooks.”
