Meghan Markle’s $36,000 London outfit has critics wondering how she and Prince Harry will keep up with their pricey lifestyle. A RadarOnline source said their spending could get harder to manage if they aren’t bringing in enough money.

The insider said Harry and Markle have spent years getting close to wealthy and influential people. Their business deals have also helped them pay for the lifestyle they’re used to. “But the question is whether the money coming in can keep up with the money going out,” the insider said. The source suggested that cutting back could be difficult for the couple.

“There is a big difference between being able to afford that lifestyle today and being able to sustain it for another 10 or 20 years,” the source added. The insider also claimed that luxury plays a part in the image Markle wants to build for her brand.

Markle’s As Ever brand has recently added an advent calendar to its holiday collection. It’s listed for $148 on the brand’s official website. The source suggested that her ambitions go beyond simply wearing designer clothes or enjoying expensive things.

“She wants to be associated with exclusivity, beautiful homes, expensive clothes,” the source said. According to the tipster, that image could appeal to wealthy shoppers. The insider suggested that Harry is happy for her to enjoy the finer things in life. However, “Maintaining that image comes with enormous costs.”

The insider added that outsiders don’t know the full picture of their finances. But they argued that their income would need to keep matching their spending. Markle was spotted outside London’s Claridge’s hotel with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai on October 7.

The two had afternoon tea at the luxury hotel. They also worked together to support girls’ education back in 2020. According to RadarOnline, the outfit Markle wore that day was worth around $35,870. That included a $21,400 necklace, a $9,360 handbag, a $2,270 coat, an $840 sweater, $940 pants, and $1,060 shoes.

However, according to Us Weekly, her outfit was estimated at $36,000. It listed a $1,898 Tove Studio coat, $2,250 Ralph Lauren pants, and a $21,425 Logan Hollowell necklace. A few days later, Markle visited three charities in Nottingham. She wore a Joseph coat reportedly worth around $2,000. She also wore a cashmere sweater costing about $470.

Harry and Markle have also reportedly gone on trips with some wealthy friends. According to the Daily Mail, billionaire hedge fund manager Ian Wace hosted the couple and their children on Tanera Mòr, his private Scottish island. Their Montecito mansion in California is pretty huge, too, with nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, big gardens, and a swimming pool.

The home is worth more than $16.73 million. Royal author Tom Bower also talked about their money in his book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family. He claimed Harry and Markle need at least $3 million a year to keep up with their pricey lifestyle. Meanwhile, according to Page Six, unnamed sources put their annual expenses at around $6 million.
