Meghan Markle’s private number was reportedly leaked in a school WhatsApp group. It happened just as she and Prince Harry moved their kids to another U.K. school. The Sun posted a screenshot of the chat. It showed a mom welcoming the Duchess of Sussex before Prince Archie started school. 

The group was named “Year 3” and had a book emoji. In it, one mother wrote, “Welcome to Meghan who has Archie joining tomo.” Another replied, “Welcome!” Over the messages, Markle then responded, “Hi moms! Thanks for the warm welcome [heart emoji] So happy to be a part of this community xx.” 

According to the outlet, Markle’s number showed up in the screenshot. Archie and Princess Lilibet left their first school after two days. According to Page Six, heavy traffic and the long journey put pressure on the Sussex security team. The family’s spokesperson confirmed the move on September 14. 

According to the BBC, they said, “The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.” 

The spokesperson added, “The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.”

Archie and Lilibet attended a taster day at their new school on September 14. They then began their first full day there the next day. The family hasn’t publicly named either school yet. The school move came as Harry’s U.K. security review is underway. 

He has been battling the decision over his police protection since he and Markle stepped back from duties in 2020. Harry later lost his Court of Appeal challenge in May 2025. Now, RAVEC, the committee that handles royal security decisions, is taking another look at it after the family returned to the U.K. 

According to The Telegraph, RAVEC’s Chairman wrote to Harry last week. The committee has ordered a fresh risk assessment for Harry and a separate one for Markle. It has also reportedly asked about their schedules and daily routines. 

This also includes the children’s school run. Markle’s assessment is also her first since she and Harry stepped back. But this review doesn’t mean they’re automatically getting full police protection. For now, the family has interim security. 

The review was reported shortly after a letter was sent to the Sussexes on King Charles’ behalf on September 7. Lord Chamberlain Richard Benyon sent it to senior government and military officials, along with lord lieutenants around the U.K. The letter stated that the couple are still non-working royals. Their HRH styles also remain in abeyance. 

Markle has also recently shared a rare look at Archie and Lilibet in Instagram videos. The clips show the kids enjoying outdoor time in the U.K. In one video, Lilibet was riding a bike while Archie ran around and cheered her on. Harry also appeared in the clip, along with the family’s dog, Pula. 

Markle shared another batch of family clips on September 15 for Harry’s 42nd birthday. Archie and Lilibet also showed up in some of those moments.
