Meghan Markle’s ‘Vanishing Act’ Exposed as Insider Reveals One Kate Middleton-Sized Goal
Meghan Markle has been staying pretty quiet since coming back to Britain. But according to a Woman’s Day source, she may be doing it on purpose. Kate Middleton may reportedly have something to do with it.
The insider said Markle was advised, “to be less accessible because it creates more interest so that’s the strategy she’s leaning into.” The source added, “She is deliberately biding her time and staying out of sight intentionally.”
The insider added, “When she does start stepping out more, the hope is that she’ll have built up enough anticipation that people will be excited to see her, rather than having her everywhere right away and the public getting sick of her.”
The source claimed Markle knows she and the Princess of Wales “are always going to be compared.” The tipster stated Markle wants “just as much of an impact, if not more.” Markle hasn’t joined Harry for any official events since they came back to Britain with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet on August 26.
Harry, though, has been out and about. He went to the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner and Awards in London on September 17. He then attended the WellChild Awards on September 21 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel. But she wasn’t hiding away completely.
That same day, Markle was spotted at The Three Horseshoes pub near Burford, Oxfordshire. She was joined by Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. It was her first photographed U.K. outing since the family returned. Meanwhile, Middleton has continued making public appearances.
She joined William in Liverpool on September 10 for World Suicide Prevention Day. They also launched a suicide prevention toolkit for people in sport. On September 17, the couple headed to the Isle of Bute in Scotland.
They visited a sports club, joined a beach cleanup and stopped by the Anchor Tavern. Middleton and William were back out in London on September 22 for the Digger premiere. Middleton also met Tom Cruise there. Two days later, she visited The Forward Trust in Southend-on-Sea for Addiction Awareness Week.
She met people involved with the charity and joined its gardening program. Middleton also hosted a tea party at Windsor Castle for people who took part in the Three Peaks Challenge. According to the insider, Markle has “also got plenty of things keeping her busy.”
The source noted that she has been busy “from morning until late at night.” Harry reportedly thinks Markle is “worrying for nothing.” The source said he expects a “fantastic reception” when Markle starts appearing publicly again. That reaction, the insider said, could “easily generate the same kind of excitement Kate does.”
As of now, Markle doesn’t have a confirmed major public appearance lined up. She could reportedly return to acting, but nothing has been officially confirmed just yet. The Invictus Games could also be one to watch.
Harry is expected to stay involved with the Birmingham 2027 Games, and Markle could potentially join the Duke. Her With Love, Meghan Daytime Emmy nod also gives her another potential public event in October.
