Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Drop Bombshell Statement Ahead of Major Sussexes Trip
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing for their first international trip since returning to the U.K. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer working royals and are undertaking the visit as private citizens. They are set to travel to Belgium, where both will deliver keynote speeches at an event focused on protecting children from online harm.
According to the Express, the Sussexes’ team recently confirmed that the Duke and Duchess will visit Brussels. The purpose of their visit is the opening of The Lost Screen Memorial. The memorial aims to serve as a reminder of the children and families that were affected by online harm.
Both Harry and Markle will deliver keynote speeches at the event. They will “underline the importance of turning commitments into meaningful action and ensuring that the experiences of children and their families remain central to decisions about the digital future.” The announcement also revealed that the ceremony will end with “a testimony from Sandra Spitaels,” a victim’s mother. She will offer a “deeply personal perspective on the impact of online harm on families.”
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola will also deliver a keynote address. This is not the first time the Sussexes have addressed the major issue. Previously, the mother of two visited Geneva and delivered an emotional speech. She also took time to mention a teenager named Katie who suffered from a severe eating disorder.
Back then, Markle said, “Children today are being shaped by systems designed to capture attention at any cost.” She then listed the systems, saying, “relentless algorithms, exploitative engagement, and endless exposure to harmful content.”
Meanwhile, the couple’s trip to Brussels will mark their first public appearance after the former actress’ father, Thomas Markle Sr.’s, scandal erupted. The 82-year-old is facing child s—– a—- allegations in the Philippines. Markle already delivered a statement, revealing the reason why she distanced herself and her family from her father.
As the Sussexes continue to make public appearances after returning to the U.K., royal experts are urging King Charles to get rid of them. According to Radar Online, Tom Sykes pointed out on The Royalist podcast that people in the U.K. are not happy seeing their monarch being humiliated.
The expert continued to claim that the sovereign rolled out the carpet for the Sussexes to return to the U.K., six years after the infamous Megxit. In doing so, Sykes noted that Charles was turning his decision into a really bad “legacy-defining” moment.
Agreeing with Sykes, royal biographer Tom Bower labelled the monarch as “weak.” He said that Charles hates confrontation. Moreover, the author added, “He feels undoubtedly guilty about the way that Harry was neglected during his childhood, especially after Diana’s death. It’s all together…It is a very, very great mess.”
Bower later urged that the monarch needs to step in and make the decision to throw Harry and Markle out of the country. “He’s got to decide to get rid of them. Tell them to leave. Make sure that they don’t believe that they can ever become royals here again,” the author declared. He claimed that not just the palace, but even the Sussexes, needed to be made aware of his agenda.
