Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Latest Cotswolds Move Raises Eyebrows as Couple Shift to Wealthy Friend’s Estate
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly moved to another home on a wealthy friend’s Cotswolds estate. They first stayed in his main house after returning to Britain with their children in August. A friend told the Daily Mail, “They were living in the main house. They have now moved to a property on the estate.”
Harry reportedly befriended the businessman through their shared support for military charities. He had also been looking for a home near King Charles III. According to Page Six, royal commentator Tom Sykes previously spoke about Harry’s house hunt.
“I was told by a friend of Harry’s earlier this year that he was going to go house hunting and potentially in the Cotswolds near Highgrove,” Sykes said. He also said Harry knows the area “very well.” Highgrove House is Charles and Camilla’s country home. The Sussexes previously met the King and Queen there on July 10, along with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Harry and Markle then returned to Britain on August 26 after spending six years in California. However, they reportedly plan to keep their $14.5 million Montecito mansion. According to Page Six, a source discussed the property in September. “No one is moving in,” the insider said.
“There are folks still maintaining the property.” This isn’t the first time Harry and Markle have stayed at a friend’s home. In 2020, they moved into Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills mansion, leaving their senior royal roles. According to Architectural Digest, the villa has nine bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a gym, a library, and a private cinema.
The property also features a swimming pool and a separate guesthouse. It is a 22.5-acre Tuscan-style home inside the gated Beverly Ridge Estates community. The couple later bought a home in Montecito and moved there in August. The Beverly Hills home is also now on the market for $57 million. Perry bought the land in 2004 for $4.3 million.
Recently, Harry and Markle also left Britain with Archie and Lilibet last week. According to Hello! Magazine, the family traveled overseas to visit close friends. However, their destination hasn’t been disclosed. Harry and Markle already have a connection to the Cotswolds. In 2018, they rented a farmhouse on the Great Tew Estate in Oxfordshire.
According to US Weekly, the couple signed a two-year lease. They used it as a weekend home while waiting for renovations for a new home. According to royal correspondent Alison Boshoff, Markle wants a nine-bedroom house with a film studio. Harry reportedly wants plenty of land and no public footpaths crossing the property.
Boshoff also said an agent was helping with their search. The Cotswolds isn’t the only area linked to their search. According to Homes & Gardens, Northamptonshire was another possible option. The county is home to Althorp, the Spencer family estate where Princess Diana grew up. Harry and Markle visited the estate with Archie and Lilibet in July 2026.
