Prince Harry May Celebrate His UK Birthday With These Unexpected Royals Instead Of King Charles And Prince William
Prince Harry turned 42 on September 15, celebrating in the U.K. for the first time since 2022. So, who might he celebrate with on his big day? Royal biographer Andrew Lownie told the Daily Express that Harry and Prince William’s ongoing feud makes a joint birthday celebration pretty unlikely.
Relations between Harry and King Charles may have improved recently. But Lownie doesn’t think the King will head to Oxfordshire for Harry’s birthday. Instead, the royal expert pointed to Princess Diana’s family as possible birthday company.
“Harry is certainly close to the Spencer family and there’s a strong possibility he will see them over his birthday if he does not simply spend it with his immediate family,” he said.
Harry could keep his birthday laid-back with Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet. His last few birthdays have been family affairs, and this year might be no different. The couple could reportedly celebrate at their new countryside home in the U.K.
Today, Markle shared family photos and videos on Instagram marking her husband’s 42nd birthday. The post featured Harry with Archie and Lilibet. The snaps also gave a peek into their life in the English countryside. Harry and Markle moved back to Britain from California last month.
The couple is staying in a private home, not at a royal residence. However, the exact location hasn’t been revealed. Harry has a few friends nearby, too. Lownie mentioned TV producer JJ Chalmers and former nanny Tiggy Pettifer.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are also reportedly his close ones. They also have a holiday home in Portugal, close to Harry and Markle’s property. They could all be in Harry’s circle, but no one’s confirmed the guest list yet. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace hasn’t posted a birthday message for Harry on social media.
The Times reported that the royal family wouldn’t publicly mark his 42nd birthday. The Palace has wished him on his milestone birthdays before, including his 40th in 2024. It also posts birthday messages for working royals.
The Duke’s 42nd isn’t a milestone birthday, though. And since he and Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020, a palace birthday post was never guaranteed. On the other hand, Harry’s birthdays haven’t always been quiet family affairs. He’s had fancy parties, nights out, and private celebrations at home.
Wishing a very happy 42nd birthday to the Duke of Sussex❤️

For his 30th in 2014, he threw a black-tie party at Clarence House. Around 30 close friends attended the celebration. Ellie Goulding also performed there. His 39th in 2023 was simpler. Harry was in Düsseldorf for the Invictus Games with Markle. They went to Im Goldenen Kessel, where they enjoyed German food and drinks with friends.
Harry reportedly had six half-pint beers. The couple also left a good tip. For his 40th in 2024, Harry celebrated at home in Montecito with Markle, Archie, and Lilibet. He also planned a getaway with close friends.
Before turning 40, Harry told the BBC, “I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40.” He added, “Whatever the age, my mission is to continue showing up and doing good in the world.” The royal family wished him publicly that year. Charles, William, and Kate Middleton all shared birthday messages.
