Prince William ‘Seething’ as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Snub Charles’ Letter With Nottingham Visit
Prince William is reportedly furious with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their latest visit to Nottingham. A royal insider claimed the appearance was the “final straw” for the Prince of Wales. Harry and Markle traveled to the East Midlands on Thursday, October 15. They visited Community Recording Studio (CRS) and the Himmah charity.
They also greeted crowds and well-wishers who had gathered along the streets. According to the New Idea source, “William could not believe what he was seeing. It was the final straw for him. It couldn’t have looked more like an official royal duty if it tried. It was as if they’d totally ignored Charles’ letter. William is furious about it.”
Harry and Meghan are back in Nottingham for their first joint public appearance since they moved backed to Britain. It’s where they undertook their first joint public duties after getting engaged in 2017. Of course, these days they don’t represent the monarchy. https://t.co/tZqXgZm8Ob

The insider added, “He would have little hesitation in doing everything in his power to block them. He’s so angry, if he could kick them out of the country right now, he would.” The claims followed King Charles’ clarification of Harry and Markle’s status in September. A letter issued on his behalf confirmed their position as non-working royals.
It described them as “akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.” Harry and Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020. They later moved to the U.S. Their Nottingham visit was their first joint public appearance in the U.K. since returning in August. The couple had also visited Nottingham in 2017. Back then, Harry was still a working royal.
The insider continued, “There are now intense meetings being held between William and the King’s advisers on how to avoid Harry and Meghan gatecrashing other events or clashing with senior royals’ events.” The insider also accused Harry and Markle of ignoring royal scheduling conventions.
“Upstaging any other senior royal, by having an event on the same day, is very much not the done thing. Royal diary clashes are avoided at all costs, but Harry and Meghan totally ignored that rule with their Nottingham stunt,” they said. Charles and Queen Camilla attended the opening of the seventh Senedd, the Welsh Parliament, in Cardiff on October 15.

The source said, “Harry really should have known better than to upstage his father, but he and Meghan went ahead anyway.” The insider also claimed, “Harry’s not going to be pushed around by his brother. He’s determined to make a go of his life in the UK – and Meghan is on board. If it comes to a stand-off, Harry is up for it.”
The source stated, “Behind the scenes, Charles will be doing all he can to calm William down and let him deal with the Sussexes in his own way. For now, he has to toe the line, but if Harry and Meghan continue to go rogue, William will have no hesitation in confronting Charles about them – sooner rather than later.” William and Harry’s relationship has been strained for years.
The brothers reportedly clashed over Markle and her treatment by the royal family. In 2019, Harry admitted they were “on different paths.” He also said, “I love him dearly.” He acknowledged that they no longer saw each other as often.
The Duke later shared more details in his memoir, Spare. He claimed William physically attacked him during an argument in 2019. Harry wrote that William “knocked me to the floor.” Harry has also spoken about wanting to repair their relationship. In a 2023 ITV interview, he said, “I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back.”
