Meghan Markle could be heading back to an event that sparked backlash for her last year. According to the Daily Express, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly thinking about going to Paris Fashion Week this weekend. But nothing is official yet.

A source told the outlet, “She’s keen to go alone and hold her head high. Meghan deliberately hasn’t attended an event in the UK yet; she’s been holding out for the perfect time, and Paris offers that.” The insider also said Markle “has been invited through official channels.”

Still, “She’s been weighing up whether to go because of the timing.” If she does go, Harry is expected to stay in Britain with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple has also been doing more of their public work separately.

Harry has already been out for several solo engagements since returning to the U.K. On September 17, he attended a Save the Children event with Imperial College London. Later that day, he went to the Invictus Spirit Awards in Greenwich. The next day, he traveled to Birmingham to launch the Invictus INSPIRE program at a school.

Harry then attended the WellChild Awards in London on September 21. Markle, though, hasn’t made a big public appearance since the family moved back. However, she was reportedly spotted at Soho Farmhouse earlier in September.

Then, on September 21, she was seen at The Three Horseshoes pub near Burford with her friends Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. Meanwhile, her brand, As Ever, already appeared to hint at her upcoming fashion appearance.

Markle’s lifestyle brand shared a photo of its navy leather bookmark, looking like it was sitting on a Paris guidebook. That quickly got many wondering if Markle was hinting at a Paris trip. The caption said, “Our Latest Keepsake (emoji) As ever’s best-selling bookmark returns tomorrow in a brand new luxurious navy blue with a new reminder to hold close.”

According to As Ever’s website, the bookmark is made in the U.K. using Italian leather. It also has the words ‘Only Gets Better’ on it. Still, the timing has caught attention. Last year marked Markle’s first time at Paris Fashion Week. She attended Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2026 show on October 4.

The Duchess went to support the label’s Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli. According to the BBC, her spokesperson said, “Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo.” The spokesperson added, “They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage.”

Markle wore a white Balenciaga outfit with a dramatic cape. She later changed into another custom outfit from the brand. However, one of her videos, showing her laughing after a model fell during the show, made rounds later. Her rep, though, denied it, saying she was reacting to “a moment shared with a friend.”

A separate video of hers has caused even more backlash. It was when Markle posted footage from a limousine ride in Paris. The car was traveling near the Pont de l’Alma area, where Princess Diana died in 1997.
