Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s U.K. comeback has reportedly left Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor “appalled.” An unnamed Heatworld source claimed Andrew is “throwing a fit.” This came after the Sussexes got another chance with the royal family. 

Andrew feels “disrespected” by King Charles and other relatives. He questioned the contrast between his own exile and the couple’s apparent path back. The source claimed Andrew “says he’s never put the family down the way Harry and Meghan have.” 

Andrew also cannot understand how the family could “forgive” Harry and Markle. Meanwhile, he remains the one they “excluded and blocked when he’s never once set out to harm the family the way they’ve done.” The former Duke of York allegedly accepts that he made “mistakes” in his choice of friends.

Still, he doesn’t think banishment “for the rest of his life” is fair. Andrew’s royal exit came after his BBC Newsnight interview, which aired on November 16, 2019. It put his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein under fresh scrutiny. 

Four days later, Andrew said the fallout had become a “major disruption” to his family’s work. A day later, he announced he would “step back from public duties for the foreseeable future.” Andrew repeatedly denied Virginia Giuffre’s allegations, too.

In January 2022, Buckingham Palace said Queen Elizabeth had stripped him of his military roles and royal patronages. Andrew vowed to fight Giuffre’s lawsuit “as a private citizen.” A month later, in February, the pair reached an out-of-court settlement.

Their joint statement said Andrew had “never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character.” At last, he settled without admitting liability. On October 30, 2025, Buckingham Palace made Charles’ move against Andrew official. The Palace said, “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew.”

The statement continued, “His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.” 

Buckingham Palace added, “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.” Andrew left Royal Lodge in early February 2026 and headed to the Sandringham Estate.

Marsh Farm was being prepared as his new home. By April, Andrew had reportedly moved into the five-bedroom farmhouse. Separately, Harry and Markle have their own history with the monarchy. They quit as senior working royals in January 2020. 

Their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey then exposed the royal family tensions. Harry went further in his 2023 memoir, Spare. He made serious claims about his relatives. These included an allegation that Prince William physically attacked him during a 2019 argument about Markle. 

Another Heatworld source said Harry “has not said anything outright.” However, he “has zero respect for his uncle.” The insider added, “If he and Meghan had shown Andrew even a shred of support, he’d probably be singing a different tune, but they’ve been very pointedly icing him out for years now.” 

Harry and Markle’s closeness with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also “gets under Andrew’s skin.” According to the source, “Andrew doesn’t doubt that they’re encouraging Eugenie and Beatrice to avoid him too, which only adds to his fury.”
