King Charles Steals Spotlight Away From Prince Harry With New ‘Bromance’
King Charles appears to have a great relationship with several world leaders, and now one of those relationships is being called a new “bromance.”
With all the headlines the last couple of weeks about the king’s youngest son, Prince Harry, returning to the U.K. with his wife and kids, the monarch is now making news following an appearance in London with Emmanuel Macron on Sept. 2.
The king, the French president, and their wives visited the Bayeux Tapestry together to mark the historic return of the centuries-old artwork to the UK. And an expert is breaking down the interesting dynamic he saw between the men while at the British Museum.
Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.” Stanton frequently offers his expert analysis on high-profile public figures such as the royals.
Speaking to Betfair Casino, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “King Charles is incredibly interactive with Macron. He’s really engaged with him. Even though he’s got Camilla there and even though he’s in this social situation, he just gives Macron his undivided attention. Camilla is an expert in these situations and really takes a step back allowing Charles to build on that connection.
“I think the two men have got a real bromance. Even though they’re in this social situation, they’ve got this really obvious rapport. It’s almost like two old friends. They’re having a great time, and there’s a real sense of friendship between them.”
Stanton added, “There are shots of Macron where he is crying with laughter. He’s got his eyes closed, he’s dipping his head forward, it is a proper fit of laughter. So whatever Charles has said, it’s not just a social laugh or a social smile. He’s genuinely got Macron on the verge of crying with laughter.
“The way Macron dips his head down and shuts his eyes is all very spontaneous. This kind of reaction is not something that you can really fake or use just to show that you’re socially including yourself in the moment. He’s genuinely engaged with what Charles is saying and really enjoying it.”
The expert concluded, “So with what we have seen of Charles and Macron, it appears to be a genuine bromance. That’s clear from the body language we’re seeing. It’s very symmetrical. Whatever gestures of friendship one is giving, the other reciprocates. It’s a two-way friendship, a two-way street. Both men are equally engaged.”
